I was hesitant to spend the money to visit the gardens because I have always associated them with the show-stopping spring rhododendrons. Will anything be in bloom in November? The answer is "yes". The Dahlias are fading fast but they were still vibrant and colorful. Without the rhody distraction you can enjoy the more subtle heather, the succulents and the evergreens along the path to the ocean. It's a great place to spend a couple of hours.

What a find! We stopped in on a Sunday morning in October - grounds were very quiet and peaceful. The gardens were lovely; I was especially fond of the succulents and dahlias. Their conifer collection was also super cool! What makes this place so great is its location on a bluff. To emerge from the gardens into the sea air is just magical. Plus we saw a whale while we were wandering around out there so that was pretty special! We can't wait to come back with our little guy in tow - seems like a place many kids would enjoy. Looking forward to our next visit!

The gardens are a must see if you're in Fort Bragg. We were lucky to have the Dahlias in bloom when we visited and it was a spectacular display. I would imagine that any time of year these gardens would not disappoint.

This is our third time at the gardens. This time the Dahlias were spectacular!
We come every three years is so and this is always a stop when we are in Ft Bragg.
Check with you hotel to see if they have discount tickets..save a couple of bucks

Great place to visit and unbelievable gardens, flowers, trees and ocean views. The park is a hidden gem. We have been coming to this area for 15 years and just made our first visit. Do not miss it, definately worth your time. Wear good walking shoes

We love gardens and have enjoyed many from coast to coast. Deciding to go to this one we really debated because we have been disappointed with some of the other gardens in California. So our expectations were extremely low. Boy did we get blown away!!! We just got lost in the experience and spent roughly 3-4 hours by the time we made our way out of the gift shop. The transition from the beautiful manicured gardens out to the loop that takes you to the cliff house and coast is just magical. For anyone that loves gardens this is a must see.

While I have been to Mendocino many times, this was s first for me. This garden is like no other in that it has plants that can only be found in coastal areas such as this. Lovely flowers, beautiful trees, trails that you can hike or just easy walking trails. Peace and quiet, too. Take this side trip and enjoy!

The coastal botanic garden is such a delight. Wonderful recreational walk to the ocean, through forest with dahlias, vegetable garden and heather fields. Excellent!

I've been to botanical parks before. But this one had such diversity and beauty. The walk to the coast with our dog was an unforgettable experience. Many different trails and all exceptionally well taken care of. The dahlias were especially beautiful. The gift shop was also unique with some whimsical items. Definitely the best two hours we spent in the Fort Bragg area.
