We were told that this was the only restaurant in town with sunset views so we made a reservation, even though it was on the pricey side. We were seated for 20 minutes before drink orders were taken but they were quite busy. The main issues were the food and cocktail...my mojito tasted like petrol and was rightfully removed from the tab...the fillet mignon starter was well cooked but no district favours as the trio would suggest, the sampler plate was a medley of very heavy battered objects, with prawns the only identifiable seafood. Our entrees were a very dry piece of halibut with several large bones and an overly creamy gnocchi with not much other flavour...we were hungry and it was already 9pm after waiting a while so we just ate it. When it came time to pay the tab we discussed our meal with the manager who simply stated that he was sorry and hoped we would eat there again then left us to pay the over $100 tab...not likely! We are not sure of other places in town but we have had better dining experiences in Alaska for half this price.

The "to die for" triple chocolate mousse wasn't. It had stayed in the fridge for days and was like rubber. The alfredo was so plain it wasn't worth eating. How do you mess up alfredo sauce? And the salt and pepper mills are a huge waste of time. You pump and pump and nothing comes out so you just give up (you NEED salt and pepper to give the food any flavor). The tables around us all just started laughing when trying to use them. Pathetic. We were there on a Wednesday night, there were only 4 other tables in the entire restaurant and we had TERRIBLE service. How long do you have to wait for a cocktail and the bill? Over rated and over priced. You are paying for the view, which after dark doesn't even matter.

We sat over 10 minutes before we had to ask for someone to take our order. We ordered calamari which took forever it was deep fried in a cake like batter which was not cooked through. Our waiter noticed that we did not eat our calamari and asked if we liked it we said no and he sad I'm sorry and just took the plate away. We waited forever for our burger and the patty appeared to be deep fried and the bun was a dinner roll that did not fit the burger. We had to chase down the waiter to pay for our meal. I think they need some management in the customer service department.

We were seated promptly, and then waited over 15 minutes for our order to be taken. We asked for more bread and butter but the bread did not come until after the appetizer and even after our main course was served and the butter never came. The service was inexpert and not what one expects when the bill is $100. The food was adequate, but again, not what is expected for the price. So, my evaluation is that you skip the Cliff House and head instead for Carine's or the North Coast Brewery Pub.

Wow...this is a great stop. We didn't think there was a seat in the place that didn't have a view of the ocean. The service was great - very friendly and efficient - the food was fabulous. My hubby joked he was going to "lick the plate clean" he enjoyed his meal so much. It's not the least expensive place in town but well worth the price for a fine quality meal.
