“Well Harvested”
Reviewed November 8, 2012

We watched the locals harvest any beach glass available. So much for leaving things untouched! The view of the cliffs and ocean was very pleasant and there is a great walk along the bluffs.

“Don't Bother”
Reviewed November 6, 2012

Evidently all the people who have been here have taken all the glass - don't bother visiting. Does not look anything like the pictures you see of multiple glass shapes gleaming in the sun. Access to areas close to the water where most of the "glass' evidently is is somewhat awkward and overall there just isn't much to see here. A disappointment.

“Fun to take the kids and grandkids”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Go at a low tide and find little gems and worn pieces of glass that shine in the sun. The children collect these gems and its a nice view of the ocean. Once I guess it was the garbage dump a century ago so the glassware has been breaking up for decades.

“Glass Beach is fun to do”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

We wanted to stop at Fort Bragg to visit Glass Beach that was once a city dumb creating thousands of small pieces of glass polished by the ocean waves. Glass Beach is not covered like it once was but you can find thousands of small pieces of glass mixed with the rock pebbles. It's fun to do.

“A unique look at history in Fort Bragg.”
Reviewed October 29, 2012

A former garbage dump cleaned up has yielded this wonder where the broken glass has weather and smoothed so much that at low tide you can walk on it in bare feet. Look for things like spark plugs embedded in the rocks and other relics of the days when it was a dump. Thankfully they pulled the old cars out! The view of the ocean is stunning and while we were there some deer came right down the path by us.
