I go there almost every day. It's a lovely place, the boardwalk and stops along the way make it accessible to everyone. You can get addicted to it.

MacKerricher is a great place to spend the day or camp. At low tide the tide pools are so much fun. Great educational activity for your children or grandchildren. The beach is nice for kite flying or playing in the sand. Beautiful for a nice romantic walk also.

It's magical. The boardwalk is easily accessible for strolling on feet or wheelchair. Great view of the ocean, the whales and the local sea lion population. Inland, the lake is also beautiful and thought he boardwalk on that side is not as fancy, it's another flavor of coastal living.

So popular, you must make reservations far in advance. Lots of sites; some just for tents. Great for families. Lots to see and do--hiking, bike riding, walking the beach. Day use is free, so if you stay in Fort Bragg area in motels, be sure to come often and long to the Park. Down side, and no one to blame, ocean has taken over the old haul road, so access to the large parking area and upper campground is sometimes limited, especially in winter. Suspect that at some point, major road re-routing will need to be done. Love this place. There is a boardwalk around the cliff area so very easy for disabled folks to experience the"walk" with nature and enjoy the ocean. We go there 4 or 5 times a year.

We visited MacKerricher and we were not disappointed. We saw seals on the beach and a deer in the park who eating lunch. He kept watching us so we did not frighten him.
