“Pet Friendly and Good Value”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 26, 2010

This motel style property is very well maintained. There are six cottages and four in line rooms. Our room was furnished in a way that made it look like home more than a standard motel. The bathroom sink was clear glass, the lamps and lighting fixtures unique. Our room (misnamed as a suite) came with a private redwood deck. A basket of fruit and some snacks were a welcome gift. They even provided a dog basket with towels, blanket and doggie treats. There was a jacuzzi bath which, reading the comment book left in the room, was enjoyed by some prior guests.
I think these jacuzzi's are totally worthless. The water starts to get too cold the minute you get in the tub. Then the jets blast the water out further chilling it. So, you sit in cooling water surrounded by blasts of water that do no good to anyone. Get a hot tub. Forget about the Jacuzzi.
The grounds are well maintained and there is plenty of room to walk the doggie. The owners are friendly and helpful. We relied on their restaurant recommendations and wound up with a good breakfast and dinner. All in all a good value for $130 per night including our dog.
If you need to hear the pounding surf, there are other places that will cost you about $40 more per night. If you are on a budget, this place is for you.

We stayed at Shoreline Cottages in the Sun Suite for one night. We liked everything about the cottages and wish we could have stayed longer. Our suite was spacious, very clean, and had a private sundeck on the back where we enjoyed a picnic lunch with friends. Right next to us was a place where we could have a fire or grill out. Our room featured a very comfortable bed, desk, wireless internet, fridge and microwave, jacuzzi tub with a rain shower, and complimentary snacks. Dishes and silverware were also provided, as well as any other little thing you might need. My only complaint was that there was no sink other than the bathroom sink, so it was hard to do the dishes. (You were asked to was dishes or leave a substantial tip for the cleaning staff.) But this is really a minor complaint, all things considered. We would not hesitate to stay here again whenever we are in the area.

Our stay at Shoreline Cottages was wonderful. The room was an adequate size, decorated nicely and very clean. The location could not have been better. Close to town and close to the beach. The beach was wonderful and the trail down was easy to use even with a small child and lots of gear entow. Had a wonderful stay, and will definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Shoreline Cottages! Our dog, Summer, loved her doggy basket (especially the doggy biscuits). The basket contains dog bowls, a beautiful treat holder filled with doggy biscuits, and towels with cute dog bone emblems. Summer also loved the dog bed she was given to use during her stay. They have a very nice area ourside in the center to take your dog to relieve herself complete w doggy doo bags and a pooper scooper. It was so nice staying at a place that welcomes our pet!

The location is between Fort Bragg and Mendocino (closer to Fort Bragg) which made it very convenient for us since we always like to explore both when visiting the area. I loved reading the guest book in our room that was filled with great recommendations for local restaurants. The owners were away for a few days, but there was a very nice lady that was filling in and she gave us a great recommendation for a restaurant called 'The Wharf" at Noyo Harber. The food was excellent and the view of the harbor and ocean was beautiful. We had a very romantic dinner there. Also try Mendo Bistro which also had excellent food at a very reasonable price.

The cottages are so cute and clean and I loved having a kitchen. They even had cookie sheets which I will be using next visit when I bring some chocolate chip cookie batter. There is a microwave, stove, and a full size refrigerator too. Head over to Harvest Market off of 20 and pick up some deli meat, cheeses, french bread, and wine and you will be all set for snacks and a picnic on the beach. You also have your own little carport next to your cottage. I loved coming back to our little cottage after hiking or dining and having the feeling that we were coming home. We really loved staying at the cottages and will definitely be back!

Our dog Summer definitely gives it 5 paws up!

My husband and I stayed at the shoreline cottages for a mini getaway. I found it on an internet site and it looked really cute. The themed cottages were great. We loved the fact you could cook meals to save money or go to some great resturants. Very clean and the clerk Jo was so nice. We will be back and this time we will bring our Roxy dog. Thanks for a great getaway.

The Lighthouse room was very nice! It was very clean and quiet. We took our dog and thought it was very thoughtful that they had clean towels, a doggie bowl and a bucket of doggie treats which she enjoyed. We will definitely come back again.
