REALLY comfy beds, adorable kitchen, great bath products, and good location. Quiet (I am very fussy), except for the buoy, way out in the ocean.
Wonderful dinner at Mendo Bistro (Main & Redwood), and delicious breakfast at Laurel's Deli (Main & Laurel).
Fort Bragg is down to earth and lovely. We visited Mendocino, and it is gorgeous, but a little too twee for me. (Reminds me of Monterey vs. Carmel.)

We read about this property in California guide books and read the reviews on-line and were not disappointed. The new owners have created a warm and welcoming environment. The cottage had plenty of room for a family of four and we even had our own air mattress since our kids are getting too big to share a bed. We went to the nearby grocery store, bought a salad and quiche which we heated in the microwave, rented a movie from the front office for a $1 and had a great evening.
Everything was perfect except the foggy weather which didn't allow us to even glimpse our surroundings.

We stayed here for a family and friends get together. The grounds are very nicely landscaped with a barbeque area and picnic tables. The cottage we stayed in was very clean and nicely decorated with a comfortable queen size bed. It had a full kitchen with everything provided to cook a meal. Even though our cottage was close to the highway, it was very quiet. The owners are very friendly and helpful. They gave us good recommendations on where to eat and places to see.

Shoreline Cottages is a great place and wonderful value. It is an exceptional place to come to if you have a dog as it is VERY dog friendly. We actually stayed in two rooms because of the size of our family. One party stayed in a cottage with the dog and the other party stayed in the two queen bed rooms. Both could have accomodated a dog as both had a towel, treats, poop bags, and dog bowls for the furry guy.
The cottage were fantastic with a small but functional kitchen, comfortable bed, shower with tub, and enough room for a German Shepard sized pooch to lounge around.
The room was also nice, but the bathroom needing some updating (I believe the new owners are in the process of refurbishing them). The beds were very comfortable, the amenities such as coffee maker and fridge were great, and the rooms were pretty nicely size for our party of four.
The best parts about Shoreline Cottages were the helpful and very friendly owners who gave us GREAT advice about the area (where to eat, how to get to particular beaches, etc.), the proximity that the property is to Mendocino and Fort Bragg, the VERY nice and almost private beach in a nearby neighborhood that is easily accessible and is only about 10 minutes away walking distance, and the value. The price was wonderful for the very good quality of the property.
I think once the bathroom and some of the decor in our room are updated (and really not much updating is needed), I would easily notch my rating up to EXCELLENT.
Until then, we would stay here again and look forward to a future trip to this area and to Shoreline Cottages.

My husband and I loved the Shoreline Cottages!! They are clean, equipped with everything you need (should you use the kitchenette) and the owners are very helpful and friendly. The price was very reasonable for a tourist town, and we appreciated the car port that not only covered our car for the evening, but also separates each cottage so you don't hear the neighbors like you do at a motel. We hope to go back!

Shoreline Cottages is a real find!

We were delighted to discover how comfortable our room was, not just for our travel-weary bodies, but for our general dispositions! During a week's worth of travel, staying with one chain of motels or another, Shoreline was so refreshing: its atmosphere felt personal, but not intrusively so, the rooms and decor felt like the way "things ought to have been" in a simpler past, and maybe even most importantly we enjoyed a perfect night's sleep.

We can't really speak to the general character of service because we were in Fort Bragg for a celebration with many friends not seen for a while, and this occupied all our waking moments.

We can say that we would happily look forward to staying with Shoreline again!

Stayed here over 4th of July weekend and the place was great. The room included a kitchenette and was spotless. Management was very friendly and helpful in pointing my wife and I to local attractions. Definitely a family friendly environment and pet friendly too.
