“Clean, inviting, and fresh-baked chocolate chip cookies!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 17, 2007

I stayed here for business last month and it was fabulous. Took the Capitol Corridor train from the Bay Area and connected via Sac RT Light Rail. The light rail ride was pretty long, but the stop was located just steps from the hotel, and of course, the Folsom Outlets. The hotel was super clean, the room was well-appointed. The bed was outstanding--sheets were really so luxurious. Everything I needed was available, including freshly-baked chocolate chip cookies in the afternoon and evening. Loved it!

The lobby was clean and smelled of fresh paint (hence prior comments of refurbishment of the hotel.) Check-in was easy. The hotel's current policy is 100 percent smoke-free, no animals are allowed; there is an additional $250 charge (!) if you disregard this policy.

Our room was lit and warm when we arrived into it as if someone was anticipating our arrival to welcome us; more hotels should do this. We are repeat customers of the Hilton Garden Inn because the room accomodations are always clean, well-appointed, plenty of bath towels and sundries and extra pillows.

Their morning breakfast "American Grill" is fabulous! Buffet style (just like a cruise ship) you can have a cooked-to-order omelet, pancakes and there's fresh fruits, yogurt, juices, breads, pastries, sausage, bacon, etc., you won't leave hungry. This buffet is served in a sunny breakfast room adjacent to the outdoor pool.

Quality restaurants and a nice outdoor shopping mall are located with easy walking distance...

We had a relaxing, restful stay.

Very nice small hotel in Folsom. Walking distance to the light-rail. Good food at the Mexican place behind the hotel. Also I think the hotel was just renovated.

  • Liked — Location and small size.
  • Disliked — Ottoman in room is an odd size.

Got a good deal with Hotwire. Right off the 50 near the outlets, movie theater and a few chain restaurtants. The hotel does offer what looked like a good breakfast buffet for $10. Rooms had all the 3-star extras like mini-fridge, coffee maker, hairdryer, Iron, free wifi and buisness center. Room was fairly new looking, front desk said they will soon be all non-smoking (maybe due to new mormon temple nearby?). Near lake Natoma for nice trail riding or kayaking.

I had heard this hotel was recently renovated and was happy to find the lobby area and my room clean with fresh newer decor. The best part about this place is it is centrally located. It is near Hwy 50, across the street from Premium Outlet shops, and there are dining spots closeby. Chilis is walking distance. There's also an Applebee's nearby and old town Folsom is less than a 10 minute drive away. For the lower price, I thought it was worth it. The front desk staff is also friendly and accomodating. There are no eating establishments within the hotel so having Chilis and Applebees closeby is nice. I defnitely recommend this place if you are on a budget. If you want something more romantic, the Natoma Inn is not too far away.

  • Liked — It was centrally located to the Freeway, Premium Outlet Stores, Convenient dining (especially for an out of towner)
  • Disliked — It did not have a restaurant/bar on the premises (however, it's a smaller inn so that's understandable)
  • Tips/Secrets — This place is right off of Folsom Blvd & Iron Point Road so it is a great place for those who do not know the area.
