My wife and I were looking for a quiet getaway and knew once we walked in the lobby that booking our expensive weekend here was a mistake. This place is perfect for a family with kids--or someone who is hard of hearing. If you are looking for a nice, quiet place in the trees, look elsewhere.

We were also very disappointed by the price. They didn't even clean our room after our first night!!!!!!! For $200/night, an unattended room is unacceptable. If we paid $100/night we wouldn't be as bitter.

Excellent Hotel. Air of a very old European manor; huge lobby and fireplaces. Family and kids oriented. Good food; excellent bar and accommodations and attractions nearby (all the natural wonders of Yosemite Valley and National Park). Best and kindest staff!
Will return with more snow.

We stayed here when driving from San Fran to Vegas. Unfortuneately we didn't get a chance to see much of Yosemite and the surroundings but spent most of the night in the hotel.

The room was large, comfortable and in keeping with the theme of the lodge. The room we had didn't have a view as the hotel is only 3 stories tall.

There are 2 restaurants, one quite expensive and the one we ate at! The food was nice, the service was very good. There is a seperate bar area with seating outside. There is also a small convenience store shop but the prices are incredibly expensive.

When we checked out there were complaints from other guests about there being no running water.

Overall we'd recommend it if anyone was passing however I would not go out of my way to stay here again for the route we took as there are more conveniently located, and cheaper, hotels.

It was a great place! The weather was a bit chilly but the mountains and red woods were awesome. Definitely need to go back! There are a lot of trails that need to be explored.

We decided to try this place out since we had a few days off with the kids...ages 12 and 14. It is a beautiful location and that is the reason to go here. If you are thinking you are right next to Yosemite though keep in mind the Valley is about an hour from the various park entrances so if you want to experience that I would not reccomend this hotel instead stay at the Yosemite Lodge or in Curry Village. I would go back during off season if they had a good rate but the website makes this place seem much nicer than it is. I am suprised it is a 4 star hotel.

Tried Antelope's restaurant it was pretty standard and Sierra breakfast buffet which was OK.

I should say that we spent two nights in a family suite during the week between christmas and new year's eve. The place was crawling with kids which made it hard to relax. But if you are looking for kid friendly you found it.

PROs
nice surroundings
hot chocolate drinks in lodge each night
sledding hill and discs provided
indoor and outdoor pool open till midnight
staff very friendly
games for checkout

CONS
rooms-dark (no overhead lighting)
rooms- our family suite was really a room with two double beds
exepensive
spa very close to pool area and loud
staff in bar- accused us of stiffing them night before and when we told them they were confused with someone else and to check our room charges to verufy we paid they choose not to believe us

Loved this place!! Stayed in one of the cottages. A little bit of a squeeze for four people but the surroundings made up for it. Cottage was very clean & beds were comfortable. Staff very friendly & helpful & resturants were all great - especially the buffet breakfast. We went horse riding for the first time ever & our guide was very professional & reassuring! Very patient as well. Night tours into the forest was great fun - the kids had a great time & learnt heaps. - tour guide was entertaining & lovely. Tour into the National Park was a great day out - we all enjoyed it!! Overall its a great place to stay with lots to do or just enjoy the peace & serenity - would be lovely for a romantic getaway!!
Only downside - there were a lot of bees in the pool area. I would recommend it to everyone.
