A fun and interesting ride. Very relaxing ride through the forest and the Engineer gave interesting facts on the area and the railroad. Well worth the ride...but try to go when the steam engine is working.

One a recent trip to California we stayed just outside Yosemite National Park and were pleased to find this excellent railway which is a legacy of the logging industry.
The Steam locomotive was very powerful, the staff were all friendly and informative and the trip through the trees was a unique experience.
Only regret was that we were unable to go on an evening dining train as the season was nearing the end when we arrived.
Would love to come back and it is a great project that deserves a visit.

Food was good, cooked right there while the 4 entertainers strolled around asking for requests. The train ride was interesting giving a little of the history of logging in the last century. The campfire sing-a-long was a lot more fun than I expected! Great family night.

Not sure what I expected but it really is just a train ride for a short period of time. They did have a gentleman narrating throughout the trip and it was informative. I think my grandchildren would have found it fun. They had a great bread pudding which you could purchase. Overall, great time for children.

A nice way to spend a few hours. We didnt do the bbq, just the ride and it is very well done. The people at Sugar Pine RR love what they do and take pride in maintaing this piece of history. Kids 9 and 11 got a kick out the conductor who stopped and playfully asked them some brain teasers.
