We recently stayed for 5 nights at the Big Creek Inn during the Government shutdown at the start of October and had a marvelous time. To have cancelled would have been very short sighted and having done my research beforehand knew that the surrounding area outside of the park is just as beautiful and magnificent. Also Pamela’s welcomed recommendations on where to go added to our overall experience as no one knows an area like a local. We stayed in the luxurious Madera room and enjoyed the bucket load of extra amenities that you wouldn’t expect but which made the stay even more enjoyable and memorable. Sitting on the deck overlooking the meadow, having a sundowner and feeding the jays (courtesy of Pam’s endless nut supplies) is a smashing way to wind down just before you head out for an evening meal at one of the nearby restaurants. An arm could march on the hot and delicious breakfast Pamela prepared for us each morning I just hope Indy wasn’t too put out by having to eat the left over sausages! Pamela has a true gift in hospitality and in thinking of everything to make her guests comfortable, we highly recommend it to anyone looking for a very special place to stay when visiting Yosemite and the surrounding area. Take care Pam and hope to see you again.
