The Inn is a beautiful place, and the town folk friendly, but the meals are quite expensive for what you get. For $60+ for the two of us (and we chose the less costly of their entrees), I could have fixed up just as good a meal at 'home' in our RV for a fraction of that price.

We stayed for two nights at the Victorian Inn , Ferndale last week . It was our chosen place to stay on our way to see the Redwoods. We are Vancouver Island residents, but together with our British heritage, we are pretty familiar with Victorian type hotels and inns. And this one pretty well came up to our expectations. We had an enjoyable stay thanks to our gracious and most helpful hosts and front desk. Dinner and breakfast at the Victorian Inn was delightful , and we will never forget Kelley's cheerfulness and pleasant demeanour at breakfast time.

My wife and I spent a night - we really enjoyed the decor and our room was fairly large and quite comfortable. We had dinner at their restaurant (very good) and I like the fact that they showcased local winemakers. I hope to return again and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again.

We came to visit family in the area and decided that my husband and I should spend a n iChat away from our children and family. We immediately I thought of the Victorian Inn because this is where we spent r wedding night. unfortunately, we waited too long to book our room, so we did not get the room we originally wanted. But we were not disappointed! We loved our stay and I am glad yuan sit and listen to nothing! No traffic, no tv, no children and pure relaxation. The bathtub itself is fantastic. No other hotels have the relaxing feel to it like the Victorian Inn. The owners are cheerful and a pleasure to talk to. We will have to come back in another 10 years!!!

Good people, gracious surroundings, extremely romantic, very reasonable prices for an Inn of this caliber, and just about as "out of the way" as it's possible to get. Ten miles south of Eureka in the tiny town of Ferndale, which is just beginning to undergo a Victorian resurgence. Eat in the Inn's own restaurant. If you're an adventurous sort, drive (slowly!) the very remote road, locally known as "The Wildcat", west and south from there through some of the wildest and remotest parts of the California Coast.

To be a guest of the Victorian Inn is to turn back the hands of time. It is prominent as the regal crown of main street. The rooms are authentic to the mid to late 1800's incorporating the conveniences of today. One is welcomed by a staff who cheerfully cater to your wishes and comfort. The persistent presence of owner, Lowell Danials who personally attends to his guests requirements maintains a high quality of service. Do plan on visiting the dining room and the large lounge; the back bar is impressive as a piece of 1800 mid-century art.

My wife and I only stayed one night. Our room was nicely decorated, clean and very comfortable. You do need to keep in mind that this is a very old building and you will not have all the things you may be used too (like a water heater you do not have to share with other rooms). But that is also part of the charm of staying in an truly historic inn. The location in town was nice for walking around the downtown area. Also the restaurant was very good as well as the bar. All of the staff and owner were nice and treated us very well.
