“Fabulous place to get away”
Reviewed January 3, 2008

The Victorian Inn is a wonderful place to stay. Very clean and comfortable rooms. The owners, Jenny and Lowell are the ultimate hosts and really make your stay enjoyable, and they get to know all of their guests. We have been back several times, because we like to "get away" in Ferndale and the Victorian Inn is just a great place to stay!

We were a group of 8 old ladies who wanted to see Ferndale and learn a little about those lovely, victorian homes.
Our innkeeper was exceptionally helpful and the entire weekend was a wonderful experience. The food was delicious, both at Curly's and the Carson Mansion in Eureka. We also were treated to the play "Charlotte's Webb", a charming end to a memorable weekend.
The only drawback: the rooms are on the first floor and there are no elevators. But the staff cheerfully lugged our suitcases up and down the stairs. Since this Inn was built in 1890 we really can't expect a lift...

We drove through Ferndale after seeing a blurb in the Humbolt County marketing literature about this quaint Victorian village. While driving through town we saw the Victorian Inn and decided to give it a try. We were so happy that we did.

Bill was working at the front desk when we arrived. He was very friendly, enthusiastic and helpful, explaining everything we needed to know about the hotel.

We arrived right at the end of the nightly wine and cheese tasting with the innkeeper so we unfortunately did not get to partake, but it looked like the folks who did were enjoying themselves.

We paid $140 for the Sylvia room. The room was beautifully decorated and clean. The linens were clean and crisp. The bathroom fixtures were like new. There were even some complimentary chocolate mints waiting for us on the night table. Our room was on the back side so it didn't have much of a view (it overlooked a roof) but it was quiet and peaceful.

A complimentary breakfast is included but we did not try it out.

Traveler's should be aware that while there are no TV's in the room by default, all you have to do is ask and one will be placed in the room for you. Even though TV's are not standard, Wi-Fi internet access is provided automatically.

We greatly enjoyed our stay and would definitely recommend it to others.
