Absolutely one of my favorite parks to visit in the Bay Area. The redwoods are among the most marvelous of any forest in California. It’s a popular destination so you will encounter people on the trails, but the park is big enough that folks get spread out so it never feels crowded even if the lots are full.
I highly recommend the Observation Deck loop trail if you’re up for some mild elevation gain. The view from the top is great, and the biodiversity along the way is quite incredible for a 5 mile trail - you’ll feel like you went to 3 different parks instead of just 1.
If you go in the summer or early fall, bring plenty of water and a snack. The rangers are very friendly!

This is a very beautiful Redwoods park with many scenic trails. The park is just the right size to walk around and maintain social distancing. The redwood trees are very tall and impressive. There is also a small stream to get your feet wet (the water is super cold) and there are train tracks close to the trails. The park is close to Bay Area and yet very pristine.

Beautiful view of Redwood Trees with an easy to walk circuit and many photo opportunities. Easy to get to and you can make a couple of hours of it, or spend the entire day in various parts of the park.

We thoroughly enjoyed this visit. We had diverted from not being able to visit Sequoias elsewhere and went here to see the Redwoods with not huge expectations. How wrong we were. It’s a wonderful walk (easy with kids and a buggy) through many fine trees and we jet an extremely helpful and friendly ranger who helped us understand more about these fantastic natural sights. Highly highly recommend if you are on the way between Monterey and San Francisco.

Lovely quiet, peaceful park with plenty of hiking trails, grand redwoods, creeks, clean bathroom, a train, nice gift shop

This was our first visit to this park and will not be our last. The trees are awe-inspiring and walking among them is so calming. Good to see people out enjoying their great majestic beauty. The visitor center is well stocked.
