The cafe serves breakfast and lunch (wed-sun) and dinner (fri-sat). The dining room is small but there is patio seating (perfect if your 4 footed friend is with you), parking can be a challenge on a busy day (if you have to park across the street of further up the street, it is worth the walk).

Extensive menu and blackBoard daily specials, excellent service, generous portions, reasonably priced and superb food (good presentation, very high quality ingredients)

Our party had Bacon Cheese Burger (cooked to perfection, very high quality meat, tasty, tender) the accompanying fries were delish, Club (big enough for two), Reuben (piled high and tender) and as I am not a big lunch eater I thought an appetizer of Crab Wonton would be a nice small portion - I was wrong, it was a big portion and I ate every bit of it. With a refreshing glass of Zinfandel, it was divine!

Check the website: northshorecafe.com, bring a big appetite and stop at the cafe.

It was late for us and we didn't want to drive around looking for another restaurant. We decided to run in for a bite and a drink or two before heading back to our room.

The place looks like a bar. Sounded like a bar on a Saturday night, too. The bartender was also our waitress and we were happy to find they had seating away from the band that was playing - the areas are separate.

We split a burger and had a few drinks. While our burger was a bit over cooked, the rest of the food was good and the drinks were cold. Our request to split a burger was met with two separate plates from the kitchen - which was more than we expected. We were also given a complimentary dessert- I doubt this is standard procedure but it was a nice touch.

This isn't a fine food type establishment but the food and staff our sincere - even though we felt a bit out of place initially we were set at ease quickly. A family came in as we were dining and they appeared to be kid friendly as well.

We would not hesitate to eat there again.

Be advised though that the sign on the front is a bit misleading - they are not actually a brewery but have a beer made for them off site.

We didn't stay in the Big Bear Lake area long enough to know but if this restaurant is NOT the best in the area I would be stunned. Great service, perfect food and a moderate wine list. The restaurant is small - perhaps 8 - 10 tables - so getting in might be an issue. We were able to sneak right in on a Friday and had a fabulous meal - from appetizers to a delicious dessert: sticky toffee pudding.

We actually tried to break our rule about not eating in the same place twice while on vacation but they closed early on Sunday. It was that good.

Deciding to try it out after all the positive reviews on Yelp, and this place did not disappoint. It's small, only like 8-10 tables inside and a few outside - so we're glad we got there early. They started to get busy around 9 and there was quite a wait. They have a lot of variety and different things to choose from. I had kielbasa, eggs and french toast - all delicious. Can't remember what my hubby had, but he liked it as well. We will definitely eat here again if we go back to Big Bear.
