I have been to Adalberto's dozens of times and am always happy with the food and service. The restaurant looks like a fast food place, complete with a drive-up window. Service is so fast that my daughter once thought I had ordered in advance. The food is not gourmet, but it is far better than "fast food". It is tasty, cooked to order, and unbelievably cheap! I usually order the chicken tostada which costs less than $3.50, including tax, and is a complete meal. The flat crispy tostada completely fills a white to-go box and is piled high with refried beans, shredded chicken, lettuce, cheese, and sauce. Yum! A shrimp tostada costs less than a dollar more and is an excellent choice. The shrimp are plump and about the size of a quarter, not the tiny salad size that one might expect. They are cooked on the grill with onions and peppers. One of these tostadas is big enough to even fill up my husband. Ask for pico de gallo on your tostada if you like extra spice and tomatoes. Get green or red salsa in little plastic cups to spice it up even more. Go for all the gusto by asking for added sliced jalapenos if you want. We usually get our food to go as this restaurant is pretty basic and has just a few booths inside and a couple of tables with umbrellas outside. Go for the food---especially the tostadas---and not the atmosphere.
