At the suggestion of a friend, Patti and I dined at Salvio Fine Italian Dining at the Rockville corner (Fairfield, CA). And what a great find...
We entered through the bar, which is bright, clean, and most handsome. Immediately greeted by a very friendly staff member, we were welcomed and then ushered from the bar into the dinning room.
We were taken back by the beautiful décor including petite tables with fine linens and flawlessly arranged tableware. Heretofore, the restaurants that occupied this building were never worth a return trip. The décor was deplorable and the food was fair to poor. Just know this... Salvio did it Right!
Seated with menus in hand it was only a moment when a basket of fresh warmed bread arrived, accompanied with a small plate of olive oil and balsamic vinegar.
The menu had a diverse selection of entrees; although it was tough, we finally decided on the sea bass and a Cesar salad.
The salad was fresh, the house made Cesar dressing was a hit, and the kitchen timed the arrival of the entrée perfectly as we had just finished our salad.
The sea bass had been pan-seared, baked, and served with a lemon dressing; a side of fresh sautéed spinach complemented the meal.
Desert is a must and Salvio's has a desert-tray that can compete with most San Francisco restaurants. I chose a "house-made" lemon filled cannoli and Patti had the chocolate mousse cake... both were scrumptious.
You can't go wrong at Salvio Fine Italian Dining; we'll be back!
