The colors jump off the walls and everywhere else at this terrific stop. Join a tour and check out how these little beans are actually made. Then stop in the shop out the way out and pickup several packages to take home. We had a great time. It's pretty close to Napa Valley and just north of San Francisco.

We were passing through Fairfield and decided we should do this tour. Luckily we were going on a weekday and also got there right at 9:10 when the first tour of the day was starting. They give you a free hat (you must wear some kind of hat on the tour) and some free samples when the tour is done. There are no photos on the tour, but during weekdays there is plenty going on, on the floor to watch, while they play videos showing what's really going on.

After the tour is over, they have the typical "cruise like" pictures they took when you arrived for $20 (ouch). I never understood why more of these places either charge something more reasonable and sell more or at least show them digitally so they don't waste so much paper as a lot of people just trash them.

Once the tour is over you are left at the gift shop (oh surprise). There is a fabulous assortment of stuff there. Every Jelly Belly ever made I think. We found some bags of misfits (I forget the real name) that were 2 pounds for $9 with buy 2 get 1 free. Most of the real ones are $9 per pound.

Overall it was a great tour, but as we were leaving, the lines appeared to be an hour long already. if you want to do this, I'd recommend getting there when they open.

There is plenty of signage directing you to the Jelly Belly factory and plenty of parking in the lots, which is always a plus. The tours run every 15 minutes, but there was a huge line when I went on the weekend. It was worth the wait, though, because the inside of the lobby, which is between the cafe and the gift shop, is filled with so much eye candy (ooh, pun!). There are no photos allowed on the actual tour of the factory, but it was all so cool looking! There are several stops where we watched videos and narration of the candy making, and at the end, we each got a free small bag of jelly beans!

As you walk out, employees show you pics that they take of you prior to the tour that you can purchase, but if you're not interested, I would suggest quickly bypassing it to be among the first at the sample bar where you can try as many different kinds of candies as you want.

The gift shop is pretty amazing with every kind of candy Jelly Belly produces or is affiliated with. As others have mentioned, you can also buy "belly flops" in the factory store, which are the "defective" Jelly Bellys sold at a discount. Their apparel section and other random gifts are diverse too. I totally had a good time!

Free tour, Free hat, Free samples, lets go. The best time to tour is weekdays, the factory does not work on weekends and all you see are static candy making machines. After your tour get several bags of "Belly Flops" which are the misshaped candy.

There is a restaurant which is overpriced. The tour is free.

Make sure to Mapquest or use GPS the factory is located in a industrial park and a little had to find.

Jelly Belly factory tour was great. My 12 and 15 year old were so excited. I thought the tour would be boring for them. The girls paid close attention, it was fascinating. Merchandising was fun, so much for the free tour and free jelly beans at the end. Wish I had bought more. Some things are hard if not impossible to find, at home. The kids tried Bean Boozled wheel taking a 50%chance on some awful flavors, like baby wipes or coconut.. Couldn't believe they wanted to do that? Figured if they could eat that, the Sepay Olive Oil tasting room would be as bad as they imagined. And I was right, they loved that too. Great afternoon.
