I stayed here alone with my 7 year old son. I locked, bolted and chained my ground-floor room door (and it tells you something about the motel’s location that three locking mechanisms are fitted to the external room door).
The tremendous noise of the neighbouring US Highway 101 prevented me from sleeping. Even without the brutal noise of the trucks passing by the room’s thin window all night, I think I would still have struggled to sleep. I felt uncharacteristically unsafe at this motel.
Having had a very poor night’s sleep, I was looking forward to the complimentary continental breakfast. Unfortunately, the stocks had not been replenished from the first round of breakfasters. There were no bagels. There was one flavor muffin to choose from. The bread was stale and the one remaining banana was browned. No peanut butter. I wish I’d waited 10 minutes because, as I disappointedly left the breakfast room, a more vocal guest asked for fresh stocks to be brought out.
The worst thing about this motel was that somehow the Rodeway Inn incorrectly scanned my debit card which caused a security block to be placed on my bank account. It took 3 days for me remove the security block whilst causing a great deal of stress and hefty phone bills.More
