Stayed for three nights to explore the Redwoods. Booked a garden view room per suggestions of other travelers in TripAdvisor. Check in was efficient and staff were extremely nice. Definitely stay in Garden wing with either bayview or garden view room. Is new wing opened June 2010. Room was excellent, flat screen tv, electric fireplace that actually looked like a real fire, minifridge, microwave, bath amenties, good sized bath towels. Breakfast included pastries, fruit, yogurt, juices, coffees and rotating hot items--one day ham & cheese crousants, sausage, potatoes--another ham and cheese egg skillet sausage, potatoes. Only complaint is that meat was sausage everyday where weekly menu showed bacon some days.
Attached to property was a Marie Callenders restaurant which gave 10% discount to hotel guest. Very convenient after a day in the Redwoods and good, comfort food.Location at south end of Eureka was better than downtown. Had several malls close by, fast food if desired.
In garden wing I sat by a Koi pond to relax, read, and surf the net,. Check the property pictures . Overall excellent property and all the personnel were so friendly and helpful that it made me feel like home. And don't forget the homemade cookies in reception. Truly decadent. I give this Best Western my highest ratings

This is a very nice place. Our rooms were clean and had the swimming pool/garden view which was very nice. Staff is more than friendly and breakfast was OK.

Eureka was a town we stopped in for only one night. Our stay at this Best Western was nice enough. The price was decent and the hotel was moderately updated. We had a spacious room that overlooked their interior courtyard pool which was nice and quiet, it was off the main road in so it was convenient to get to, and driving to the Samoa Cookhouse and Lost Coast Brewery were easy and quick enough. Those are two places I definitely recommend if you like food and beer. We used the pool's indoor pool and spa (they have two) which was nice since it was cold and drisly our (very normal). Our biggest issue staying in this hotel was not necessarily the hotel's fault but was just an annoyance and made us think twice about ever coming back to this town. One was that there was nothing to do besides the Cookhouse and Brewery. Everything closed by 7pm so the main drag with some shops and restaurants were useless to us. This is why we ended up using the hotel's spa/pool. The second reason we wont return were the local teens with nothing better to do than to hang out at our hotel during the night. We were awoken at 3 in the morning to yelling outside our room. My husband got up to check what was going on and found a group of skinhead looking boys standing outside our room yelling curse words for all to hear. When he politely asked them to leave they obligingly did so but not quietly of course. We left early the next morning but not before taking advantage of the free hot buffet breakfast in the lobby. The food was good and made our trip cheaper/easier since we could get on the road without stopping for food.

Although this motel is a bit far from the histroic area, and a bit higher priced than most of its neighbors, I would stay here again. The service was excellent. Everyone from the front desk staff to the housekeeping staff to the breakfast staff were fantastic. The room was large, clean and comfortable. We stayed in the Garden wing and enjoyed the use of an outdoor hot tub. The bed was very comfortable and the in-room gas fireplace was a nice touch.

We were on the third floor in a non-smoking room. However, we were right next to a smoking room and that person had their door open and sat in the doorway smoking.
We liked that the room had a small fridge, microwave and coffeemaker. It was comfortable. The cookies at check-in were great. Their breakfast buffet changes day-to-day. Would have liked the option of scrambled eggs. The yogurt was all artificially sweetened. There were lots of carbs available but not a lot of protein.
All in all it was okay.

I have been staying at the Bayshore Inn - Best Western for over six years. I have stayed in many times at Hiltons, Marriotts, Hyatts and other Best Western hotels - none of these hotels beats the Bayshore in all of the above rating and price. I have never had a bad experience at this hotel which include approximately 50 stays over six years. I highly recommend this hotel for either business or leisure. The price is the best in the area for the quality and consistency of service you receive.

What a great hotel -- everything is very close within walking distance -- shopping mall, Marie Callendars, McDonalds. Previous posters have said it all and that is why we picked this hotel as our starting point to tour the Redwoods. The price was reasonable and it included a breakfast buffet, which was the largest we've seen in any Best Western. Clean and comfortable and free wifi that worked, and an elevator to boot. What more could we want?
