Nothing especially good or bad about this hotel. Convenient if you are touring on Route 101, but no particular attraction otherwise. Our room was large and clean but dated (apparently they are slowly modernising their rooms). My wife said she thought the room had a bit of a musty smell. Quite a lot of noise from the road in the rooms - unsurprising given the hotel's position.

Internet was free but patchy. No complementary water or breakfast. No safe in room, but does have: microwave, fridge, iron, hairdryer, large TV.

Ate dinner at the hotel in the Sports Bar. Had their burgers with salad which were pretty good. There are a reasonable number of eateries nearby if you wanted to go out - we had been on the road for a while so took the quick option.

Positive: very clean; rooms comfy; staff nice/polite, close to stores and restaurants. Negative: a bit more expensive for what it is; hotel-provided internet spotty; too many one way streets. Overall, don't have any major complaints.

Nice room, comfortable beds, good shower pressure and bathroom lighting. Breakfast Buffet was ok, eggs could have been hotter and no muffins/danish, just bread for toast, bagels. Friendly front desk staff. Pet friendly with a grassy like area for them to take care of business. A great stay!

While on a road trip, we had decided somewhat last-minute to stay overnight in Eureka. It appeared from our quick online search that we didn't have a lot of options. We walked into the Red Lion Inn at about 8:30 pm, to compare their online price ($210) with their walk-up price.

Two women at reception quoted $250. When I asked about the lower price available online, one responded: "If you can show us the quoted price, we can match it here". I did, she agreed. All seemed well and good with the world, but the other reception person ("Clara" as per her lapel pin), looked uneasy and annoyed. She took over our check-in with a mile of attitude (I was tempted to ask "why so hostile?")...

Clara didn't mention the included breakfast (it was by overhearing another guest being told about it that we learned it was included), nor did she bother to tell us where the elevator was located nor directions to our room. As this is an older inn, we assumed no elevator, carried our luggage up the stairs to the 3rd floor, and discovered the elevator the next day.

Rooms are old fashioned, large, clean, and beds are comfortable. The staff at breakfast was lovely, and we encountered the same friendliness from the reception desk in the morning. Just one bad first impression.

Bctravellar-R, Thank you for taking the time to send us your review. I'm sorry Clara was not pleasant at check in, she is usually great and friendly. Thank you for the nice comments about all the other employees you had contact with.

My husband & I picked this hotel on our trip out West. It was a pleasant surprise.
The room was terrific, the breakfast was terrific, and Zach at the front desk was
sooo hospitable, courteous and helpful. We stayed 2 nights and I would highly
recommend this hotel. There is also a restaurant with great drinks and food.

Room Tip: We stayed on the 2nd floor and had no problem. The rooms are large.
