“Nice motel. Within walking distance to old town.”

We stayed here 1 night on our way up the coast to Oregon and Washington. Rooms were clean and quiet. Easy walking distance to old town Eureka. Friendly staff. Nice continental breakfast in the morning.

This property is located in an area with lots of vacant buildings. We had to walk by them to get to dinner because the parking, we were told, was "tight." This was made worse by the tour bus parked right outside our room that took up 5 spaces. There was traffic noise all night. Our room was hot and we had to cool it down by having the door and window open well past dark (we were on the first floor). There was NO airconditioning! Inside the outlets were non-functional and they had geri-rigged some extension cords in place of original outlets. We had to sleep with the drapes open to let some air in which meant we had the glare of lights in our room all night. We could readily hear the people walking above us all night. (Don't know why they didn't sleep....) In the morning we went over for breakfast and there were too few places to sit so we ended up taking it back to our room and eating off a night stand. The other problem was the tub. It was one step up (raised) on tile flooring with no grab bars. Seemed hazardous to me... The only positive thing I can say is that the beds were comfortable but with the heat in the room we barely slept. Don't stay here.

Traviling thru on a summer vacation with my wife and kids down the california coast and the BW Humboldt bay Inn was in a perfect location off the 101. Evening desk clerk was very prompt and professional, he offered some good dining choices and got us in a room downstairs very quickly.
Traviling with kids can be a hand full and staying here with all the family amenities was great! First off they have a HUGE selection of movies, something for everyone to watch...I was very impressed. Then the pool area with a pool table, arcade games, big screen tv, cozy chairs and even radiant heaters for those cold coastal nights and over all great ambience. Kids had a blast! They even have a full work out room with plenty of equipment to choose from!
I was a little concerned about road noise while checking in, being literally off the highway, but that was quickly put to rest when we got in the room, it was nice and quiet. The room seemed recently remodled and updated, even with a 42" flat screen TV and a DVD player and free wifi. Beds were nice and comfy with fresh, quality linen and they had a crib brought to us very promply when we called the front desk.
This hotel had so many suprises that we don't usually find in hotels day to day, like when we went to dinner (the Sea Grill was suggested) and got a limo ride! They offer there own personal limo service for wherever you want to go. Really makes you feel first class!!
The free breakfast in the morning has everything you could want for a quick and easy breakfast, even had waffles...yum! I would suggest this place to anyone! Top quality place you'll be glad you stayed. I don't usually write reviews, but I felt I needed to share my experiance here.

The floor above our room was the squeakest and loudest I've ever heard. What ever you do, do not take a ground floor room. The tile in the shower looked new, but mold was already present. Makes you wonder how well they clean the rooms. The staff seemed friendly, except for the person at check out who didn't even ask about our stay. We appreciated the restaurant recommendation made by the check-in staff.

Room Tip: There must be better hotels in the area.

We spent one night in early June, while on a "road trip" vacation. Not as fancy as the Carter House, but probably much more cost effective. We had a second-story room. Nice breakfast and decent room. Nothing special either way.

Our room was just ok and the pool was great. The room was large but the shower had a long black hair in it that was kinda gross. The new 42 inch T.V. was so much fun and we were the first ones to turn it on.

This was our second stay here and we really like the location as it is right off the 101 and the perfect end from our drive from So. Cal.
We booked a bay view room and watching the sunset over the bay from our private baloney was amazing!
Marie Calendars is right there and they have good prices on good food and of course, pies!
Also the mall and a little super market are all within walking distance.
The complimentary breakfast was good with several choices including make your own Belgium waffles and egg Mcmuffin style sandwiches.
The rooms are remodeled with-in the last couple of years and the beds are SO comfortable, best mattresses out of our 5-day trip!

Room Tip: bay view room is worth the $
