“Very good meal”

If you read my Carter House B&B review, you'll see it is good...worth the time. It is $$$$ but don't expect **** service, it is a bit amateurish.

“good but 50% overpriced”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 9, 2012

We ate here in July. The experience was nice, the service was good, though somewhat short of professional. We each had a salad, one of us had soup, one of us had the halibut and I had ravioli. We did not have wine or alcohol or dessert or coffee and our bill was over $105 (without tip) for two people. This is too expensive for a smallish piece of fish, five pieces of ravioli and a couple of salads. I've paid more for less in Paris or New York City, but in Eureka? My ravioli was lacking in flavor, the soup was quite good and the salads were very good - came with a tasty berry compote. Perhaps this is the best Eureka has to offer, but we felt a little ripped off. Had our bill been more in-line with north coast expectations, i would have rated it "very good" but at these prices in this location, I expect more.

“Excellent Dinner Experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 8, 2012

We decided to eat here on the second night of our 2 week road trip. Although our waiter was somewhat inexperienced, the servidce was still better than average and the food was very good. The atmosphere in this restaurant is intimate and comfortable. The wine list is exceptional. Prices are on the high side, but you get what you are paying for. We would eat here again.

“Top notch experience”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

We are locals and eat/stay here for our anniversary every year. If money is not an issue their 7course dinner/wine flight is easily the finest dining experience on the north coast. Service is always exemplary, and we usually close the place down between 11-12pm after all the great food and drink. All dishes and desserts are wonderful, and they are very accommodating to special requests. They also have the most extensive wine cellar within at least 100 mi, and their staff actually is knowledgable about the wine. The rooms are also very nice as well, ours has a gas fireplace with nice couch, very classy jacuzzi, and opening windows. If local ask for local discount, they LOVE locals and tourists alike

*****go to local Costco and ask for restraurant 301 gift certificates for 20% off food and rooms!! Get alot, is not cheap!!
