Located on a bluff Fort Humboldt provides sweeping views of Humboldt Bay. The restored military buildings are original and contain extensive historical displays. The time period concentrated on is the 1851-1870 period which includes Ulysses Grant's tour of duty at the fort and the many early conflicts with Native Americans.
The displays are both informative and poignant.
