Description: The big advantage of Platia restaurant is the menu which has influences from the international and the mediterranean cuisine something which make it able to satisfy even the most demanding palates, both because of the fantastic taste and the well presented dishes which make them like real art works. If you are looking for something special, unique and exceptional Platia tavern is the best choice and ideal to fulfill your expectations. All dishes are very finest and made of local products. The wine and the raki (called strofilia in Greek) made from Dimitri's vineyards. You will realize immediately that in this restaurant the traditional cuisine cannot characterized as a touristic place as it crosses even the narrow geographic limits of Naxos. Also you can combine your holidays making your cooking class in a warm and welcoming place. You can participate in the cooking class process of an authentic Greek meal, made with your own hands accompanied by local drinks and wines.

My family (8 adults) was spending six days on Naxos and this was one of the first activities we booked. We spent four hours watching and participating in cooking a delicious meal of stuffed veggies, lamb, potato and tzaziki.

We arrived and shared the experience with two other families (including adorable kids!) We started with snacks and then moved over to a table where we helped chop, pour, stir, peel, etc. While the food was cooking, we drove two minutes down the road to the family farm, where we picked fresh grapes and other fruits off of the trees and vines to try, and were given bunches of grapes to take home!

When we returned, the meal was ready for us. The food was plentiful and delicious. All of the food restrictions that I had mentioned when I booked the class were accounted for. The hosts were lovely. When my mom wanted to purchase some of the jam they had served us but the bodega across the way was sold out, the chef bottled some up for my mom right there to take with her. Everyone in my group had fun, including my dad who doesn’t cook and my brother who tends towards more adventurous activities.
This was a wonderful way to pass the afternoon (we were there for about four hours) and I highly recommend it!

This resto has been recommend to ourselves by a local acquaintance, but was proved to be not a good one ....
Although we have been welcomed from the personnel, and were seated in a nice spot, we have ordered 2 salads, 1 appetizer, and two main dishes. We had also a bottle of water. In one of the salads we found a caterpillar -cooked probably with the salad itself- and we gave the full salad back to the waiter. Although we ordered the cooked specials of the day, it took more than 20’ to have them served and they arrived barely hot. The meal cost us €45,00 without paying for the dish we returned. My young daughter and myself -who shared the same main dish - suffered from diarrhea the same evening and the next.
As an overall, it was not a pleasant experience!! It did not worth paying that much and also wasting our time and appetite with this restaurant.
Not Recommended at all !

Traditional Greek cucine but with some exceptional dishes like the stuffed onions.
I consider as a must restaurant to go and eat in Naxos. Worthwhile the time and distance.

We enjoyed the food 3 times during our stay at Palatiana Agroturismo. The beef in tomato sauce was delicious as was the veal with aubergines.
They do take away as well.
Very welcoming staff looking to make your meal enjoyable.
Even locals from Chora are coming for dinner which shows that the quality of the restaurant is well recognised.
