Gorgeous park and well kept. You could easily spend two days here. We only had one so we didn't get to see everything. Kids loved it, especially the carousel which is unlimited rides for $6.

I have been on an African safari and I'll be honest, this is about as close as it gets. The expansive park is so well done and under the Escondido sun, you are sure to enjoy. Lots of locals love getting the annual pass and come walking here as the tree covered paths keep people cool as they embark through the different parts. If you need disabled access the park is very good at accommodating you and there are plenty of wide clear paths. Great place to bring the family or even just hang out with a friend.

As we know the San Diego zoo and safari park are key tourist attractions, it was a nice surprise to visit the animal park in Escondido during a weekday. No crowds to speak of! Agreeably it is hot in July, however the park has lots of shade, misters, and concession stands. One more postive is that you may bring in snacks. I also brought my water bottle, hat, sunscreen, chapstick and sunglasses. Comfortable shoes and clothing that breathes is a must. Lots of walking.

We also went to the zoo at Balboa, and I initially though, maybe this wouldn't be worth it. But I am so glad we rented a car and went to this. It's different than the other zoo. They take you on a tram and you get to see animals roaming free. The admission goes towards the upkeep of the zoo. The place is also beautiful, breathtaking views! We bought the costco San Diego City Card.

We took the safari tour. It was expensive but worth the price. We fed a giraffe and a rhinoS amazing to be so close and experience these creatures while supporting conservation
