“Cozy jewel”
Reviewed January 17, 2013

This is a Peruvian cafe that is fairly new to Encinitas, and it's reputation blossomed immediately. A large menu and excellent wine list impressed us and the food and service were all we could have asked. The night we were there, the chef had prepared a marvelous fish stew that could be served in the finest restaurants on the coast. It is an intimate setting, and reminiscent of small Italian trattorias in Tuscany. Reservations essential!

“If Q'ero Cares-Your Service Was Absolutely Unsatisfactory!”
Reviewed December 20, 2012

On 12/14/12 at about 5:30pm, my friend and I came to enjoy a Christmas dinner. The man that served us was terrible and very unhelpful. He must of come to our table no more than three times! He was not cordial or caring. Though the food was good, the service was worst than ever. It took way too long to get our food. We felt totally ignored. I had to get up to get my own water across the room! It took way too long to get our food. The server didn't even look at us, while putting our food down he was looking and talking to two other gentlemen at another table whom he gave preferential treatment to. He never came around to check if we needed anything or ask if our food was okay. He never asked if we wanted dessert--just tried to plop the dessert menus down and leave fast--we asked for the check though. You spoiled our Christmas evening and you should make it right. No one should have to endure service like that! Especially with such good food reviews I read about. How disappointing.

“Every Time a Special Meal”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

Dinner at Q'ero is a delight. A mix of Peru, local fresh produce and seafood, and hints of the exotic make a meal here a special occasion. This intimate, Encinitas restaurant is always booked for a reason. Our favorites in no particular order? The chili lime salsa, anything scallops, the variety of ceviches, empanadas, the uber-fresh vegetables... A bit pricey but the night will be remembered.

“Wish I could eat here everyday!”
Reviewed December 11, 2012

Not only the best Peruvian food, but he best all around meal choices. The owner is super sweet and very interested in our feedback, always offering us new selections to try. The last visit we tried the soup, excellent!
I really do have to make a point to eat there more often and not just when friends visit.

“Latin American Food With a Flair!!!”
Reviewed November 24, 2012

Every single one of their dishes is OUTSTANDING!!! We have enjoyed eating here multiple times and have never been disappointed. Whenever we have out of town guests, this is where we take them, and also when we want to impress someone about San Diego's multicultural dining opportunities.
