“Unique dishes with flavorful seasonings--well worth a wait”
Reviewed August 5, 2011

Took my family here for lunch and was surprised and very pleased at the quality and variety of the menu. Far above most Peruvian restaurants; you pay a bit more but well worth the added expense. Very small and intimate, with waitperson exceptionally helpful .

“Well worth the effort”
Reviewed July 20, 2011

We had tried several times to get same day reservation and this place is booked every night. We lucked out with a cancellation for our anniversary. There is no hostess or waiting area. We were helped fairly quickly by one of the waiters. This place is very small and can get a little loud when crowded. The food was fabulous. We both had the small dinner salad which had the best citrus vinegarette, very fresh and light. We had the skirt steak and duck. Both perfectly cooked, the sauce on the steak was perfect and the duck was wonderful. Sweet potatoes served with both dinners were a perfect side along with swiss chard. Portions are very generous. Very nice place for a special night out.

“A nice surprise”
Reviewed June 23, 2011

We had a really great lunch here. Only one thing: the portions turned out to be a bit big, even for a chow-hnd like myself. The calamari was very unique. Fried, then mixed with mushrooms and onions in a sauce. Terrific! And the lamb shank was tender, nicely spiced and quite large, with rice and two kinds of potatoes. Excellent meal.

“YUMMMM!!!”

Great place to celebrate a special night because it is expensive, but the food is worth it. I would suggest outdoor seating because it is a tight squeeze inside.

“A True Keeper And Change Of Pace”
Reviewed March 31, 2011

Went on the suggestion of Keli (food critic of the Union-Tribune) and was not disappointed. Cozy and attractive inside or you can eat outside as well. Excellent, attentive service. Food choices were all good to excellent. The empanadas were addictive. The squid was very unique, served in a pot with vegetables and an earthy salsa. Loved the many choices that were built around potatoes.

Best value at lunch.
