This is a chill, hippie friendly type beach with a lot of surfers from before dawn until dusk. There are well maintained bathrooms and limited parking but a lot of parking around the area. I go to this beach every day- small, but you can walk for miles to the other beaches.

From the parking lot up top you walk down a long set of wooden stairs and descend upon one of the most beautiful beaches in Southern California. Swami's is a haven for surfers, so there is always something to watch out in the water. The beach itself is wide and flat, perfect for building sandcastles, or a long walk. There are amazing tidepools that come to life when the tide goes out. The tidepools are at the waters edge so you can walk on top and around them and find everything from sea urchins to starfish. Swami's is amazing!!

The parking lots fill up quickly on a good surf day;
But an underpass allows you to park at Vulcan.
From above the bluff there are benches commerorating former local surfers. There are also bathrooms and a staircase taking you to the beach below.
At low side you will find sea creatures in the tidal pools!
The is a picnic table and good people watching! Great for sunsets too

There are many stairs down to the beach. For those who just want to watch there are many picnic tables up top which allow a great view down to the water. Surfers and dolphins to watch!

It is a hike down the stairs to the beach which can keep some people away but it is well worth the effort. During low - low tides the tide pools are accessible to explore, there is good hiking to the south (normally accessible except on high tides) you can hike north on a low tide. There is a shower at the base of the staircase and bathrooms at the top. At the top of the stairs there are many seats to view sunset or enjoy the beautiful Pacific Ocean - look for whales, dolphins, surfers, SUPers, and much more. There are many shore birds to see, some local and many migrating.
