A nice place to go for a date or with friends. The bar was hopping, the restaurant where we dined was not super busy. Food was good - we ordered the cheese board, seared albacore and the shrimp and grits. Cheese board was nice but the girl who brought it out couldn't tell us what the cheeses were (server came a few minutes later and was very knowledgeable). Husband's albacore was barely seared. Did not have a nice crust (was more grayish/pink). Shrimp and grits with andoullie sausage was fantastic but beware it is very spicy. They were out of the beer we wanted to try but there was an acceptable substitute from Coronado Brewing Company.

Just a block from Swami's beach. Our sunset walk was a nice end to the evening.

Had a wonderful evening. Great device. Tried the lamb chops which were to die for! Then had dessert, a beautiful lava cake with rich white ice cream that still makes my mouth water! Not to miss.

There is no excuse for the music to be so loud at this restaurant. This would have been such a great place to sit an visit, but you couldn't hear yourself think! We had 2 flatbreads. The one with the figs would have been so much better if the figs had been chopped into small pieces instead of the large hunks. It also needed more goat cheese. If they would turn down the music then they wouldn't have had to close the garage door windows and stop the fresh air that we were enjoying.

North county San Diego has more than its fair share of great places to eat and hang out, but Union Tap has to be at the top of the list! Being on the Coast Highway, it's a great place to watch the beach traffic from the large open windows and enjoy your perfectly chilled brew or cocktail. There are plenty of big screen TVs to catch any number of games, and on Sunday afternoons there's the occasional guitar player. Come for the fun atmosphere, friendly staff and inspired décor and stay for the food ! The menu has something for everyone but the southern dishes are a must try, especially the 'shrimp and grits' and the 'gumbo'. A must try is the prosciutto flatbread topped with fried eggs !!!!!! We have been here over 20 times and they never disappoint.
