My experience began in the lovely parking lot where the signs are too small to read and are very confusing. Why they have to tell you to not back up, but take a ticket is beyond me. Check in time. Total chaos! Most Hiltons have a honors line this one did not. Check-in took forever, because no one could figure out who was in line and everyone was cutting. The room is not great there are holes in the sheets and hairs from the last guest. The TV does not work. I'm on the roadside despite paying almost $300 a night. It's super loud. There are a few restaurants nearby and there's a great walking path by the water. Unless you have no other options go somewhere else.

We liked this hotel because from this location, you are close to both SF and Oakland. The traffic is always an issue, but this is just about 20 minutes from either location. They offer free shuttle service to the BART station which is nice. We tried to drive into SF on a Saturday afternoon in August and finding parking was hopeless at the tourist sites. Take the BART and walk for sure! The hotel is good and the room was nice. I wanted a room high up facing the bay, but we got a room on the 3rd floor facing the parking lot and 580. The road noise from 580 was audible all night. SUGGESTION - refuse any room on the freeway side. ONLY take a room on the bay side. We weren't in the room much, so we really didn't care. The staff were nice and the service was very good. The restaurant wasn't opened at odd times which was a slight bummer. Otherwise, this is a good place to stay to see SF and or Oakland.

Room Tip: Do NOT accept a room on the side facing the 580 freeway/Oakland. ONLY take a room facing the bay and San Francisco. Higher is better here (unless there is an earthquake).

Dear Marc_Liberts, thank you for taking the time to respond on your experience while staying with us here at the Hilton Garden Inn San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge. We do have a great location and easy access to all directions. Remember that are Bay View rooms go fast so you need to book these rooms early. But as you said, if you are going to be out and about all day, then either side will do.

Thank you for your business and hope to see you back real soon.

Sincerely

Sal

Chose this hotel for location and price. Staff was extremely helpful and friendly. Rooms were decorated nicely and were quiet. Beds were extremely. Felt completely safe here. Plenty of parking and easy on and off of highway. Would definitely stay here again and recommend. Prices were very compatible with other hotels in the area. Just a few minutes from San Francisco, great location.

This was a good Hotel with reasonable rates. You are short distances from the shore, a short drive to San Franscico, downtown Oakland, and short walk to upscale shop and resturants. I highly recommend this spot for business or weekend travel.

My family and I stayed here the week of 7/28-8/4/2013. The staff were very good especially the kitchen hosts and waitresses. Bar staff were good especially Freddy but no happy hours or specials. If you can find something in SF that is equal in price and quality do it. But this place was easy to go places by car because it was close to all major roads. The Bay Bridge was a major traffic pain in the a.. to get into SF to do some sight seeing tours on time in the AM or anytime. Beds were good, housekeeping were very good! Parking is challenging at times because when people are checking in they cause a traffic jam for everyone else getting in and out of the lot.

Room Tip: Choose one that faces Bay Bridge.

Dear foodie 2020, thank you for taking the time to respond on your experience while staying with us here at the Hilton Garden Inn San Francisco/Oakland Bay Bridge. It was great to hear that our "Foodie" department did a great job. Here is a tip. After you have checked into the hotel and you have your parking key, don't come in the main entrance, go to the second entrance and by pass all the traffic in the front of the hotel.

Thank you for your business and hope to see you back real soon.

Sincerely

Sal
