When our daughter had her baby, we decided to try an extended stay hotel rather than the usual one we have been using in Oakland. We had a very nice room on the third floor, but I understand that not all the rooms are the same. Ours was a suite with a kitchen, two-burner stove, full fridge, and dishwasher with a breakfast counter. The bedroom was separated by doors that closed and the bathroom was very roomy as was the closet. The living area had a large desk, free wi-fi, sleeper sofa and arm chair.
The hotel has an included breakfast which isn't the usual array of bad bagels and cereals, but a full breakfast with two kinds of scrambled eggs, oatmeal, fruit, links, bacon, potatoes, all kinds of breads, as well as alternating specials, like pancakes, waffles, or blintzes. Along with this are plenty of coffee, juice, yogurt, etc.
The staff are very helpful, prompt, and friendly, and there's adequate parking. The location is very convenient, since you're right next to the Bay Bridge for trips into SF, and can easily head down 880 to downtown or 580 to the rest of Oakland. There are some good places to eat around the hotel.
This was purchased by Hyatt and I think it could use some updating, especially the furniture. The mattress on the sofa bed was so thin, our daughter had marks on her legs from the frame the next morning. We complained an the staff promptly brought up an additional mattress which made it work for her. The arm-chair has seen better days and was basically butt-sprung. None of this was awful, but I think there might be a brush-up in the future.
Certainly we would stay here again. The back rooms are closer to the Amtrak line, and we did here a few train whistles, but not enough to wake us up and most of the time, we had the window open at night. Very pleasant place to stay.
