Great custom made sandwiches that are always unique and come with interesting side salad or house made baked chips and salsa. Bread is made on site is great. Try the curry chicken salad sandwich or the Cubano....wow...always the best. Sit at the small counter and watch the action; it's fun. Try it soon.

This is the place for a great lunch! Custom made sandwiches, all meat prepared and smoked there and they bake their own desserts! The Cookies and Cream cookies are to die for. The tri-tip sandwich was fabulous. Have also tried the turkey club. Haven't had anything bad yet! Wonderful potato salad. House dressings, and all family owned and worked. Whenever in Elk Grove, try this place. Kind of hard to find because it's tucked back in a corner just off Elk Grove-Florin and just north of Elk Grove Blvd.

Baguettes Deli has consistently been drawing more loyal patronage thru satisfied word-of-mouth buzz in the local community and elsewhere from those who have been lucky enough to experience this little gem of a deli/eatery. Baguettes offers both breakfast (8A-11A) and lunch (11-3P) and every item on both menus is hand-crafted and home-made with a deft hand and a focus on the use of quality products and culinary detail with a sense of adventurous fun tossed in -- in a very very good way. Paula, the owner and Nathan, the head chef, strive to make sure your experience and your food are inviting and palate-pleasing.

Breakfast options range from AM sandwiches, breakfast burritos; and waffles, french toast and pancakes -- which you may venture to think is relatively standard fare -- but rest assured these offering are anything but morning "standards" -- the use of items such as specialty cheeses; preserves, and even some unique toppings set these items apart. Breakfast items are also served with house-made home-fries topped with sharp cheddar --

Launch into the lunch menu with abandon -- I will venture Baguettes serves up the best sandwiches in the entire region without reservation.... and if you want to skip the carbs ( but why would you when you can have house-made ciabatta and focaccia as bread options) they will make any sandwich option on the menu into a salad for you. You have about 18 options to choose from off the sandwich menu; including a Cuban that aside from the dual meats also has their home-made pickles; Pulled BBQ Pork topped with jalapeno and cole slaw; an amazing egg salad that is topped with smoked salmon, tomato and arugula; Pastrami and corned Beef Rubuens; and probably one of their most popular choices -- the roast turkey panini, which aside from being a taste-bud slamming pleasure is also a humongous toasty delight of a sandwich. There is also at least two or three daily sandwich specials -- most recently I have been bee-lining for the 3-Little-Piggies -- a cardiologist's nightmare, but this carnivore's dream -- a panini which consists of pulled BBQ pork, ham, bacon, cheddar cheese, and several of those killer house-made pickles -- Rockin'!!! Also -- the Bahn Mi sandwiches are a great cross-cultural choice which offer a usually grilled or pulled meat, cucumber, house-pickled daikon, jalapeno and a sweet-spicy chili dressing and a hit of cilantro -- on a soft ciabatta roll. Its got a kick -- but not enough to deaden your taste buds for the rest of the day. All of the sandwiches come with a seasonal side salad usually based with a healthy bent of veggies or whole grains. Well-balanced soups, and sometimes if offered, a nicely-seasoned tri-tip chili are always a sure bet for a bowl of comfort.

Baguettes has a soda fountain and house-made lemonade and teas available. You can also buy fresh baguettes and other baked goods to take home -- and everything on the menu is available for take-out if you don't have time to sit (call ahead after checking out the online menu). They also have al fresco dining available -- and its a very dog-friendly environment. You can check out their menu at www.baguettesdeli.com -- you will be glad you did after your first bite....
