“Thirds stay- cannot fault it!”
Reviewed February 12, 2014 via mobile

Have now stayed in this hotel three times while stopping over in LA? Within easy driving distance from LAX with free parking, free breakfast, large stylish and clean rooms and the friendliest staff around. The lady at the breakfast bar (can't remember her name sorry) is just awesome and should be rewarded for her ability to make people feel welcome and her enthusiasm for her job? Will definitely look to stay here when next in LA.

We spent 6 nights here and found it convenient, clean and friendly. The hot breakfast was a nice bonus. We liked the roominess and comfort of having a L-shaped couch , a desk, and a nicely appointed bathroom (be warned - there is no tub but we prefer showers, so no problem). Our only disappointment was the last day there, somehow our room was never cleaned, despite us being gone all day. We tracked down a maid, who gave us clean towels. I notified the desk clerk at checkout but she simply shrugged and apologized. I thought some money off might have been more appropriate, especially given our long stay.

Room Tip: We were on the 5th floor and found it very quiet. There are no "views" so that is irrelev...

Checked in late last night after flying all day.

First thing of note was a WSJ newspaper strewn about the sofa like someone had just finished reading the whole thing.

Found that odd. Went in the bathroom and there was a used bar or soap in the shower as well as a half used bottle of conditioner laying on its side. Lotion bottle on the bathroom sink appeared to have been opened and used. Small bits of trash on the bathroom floor.

Long story short, someone half-cleaned the room which was very disappointing.

Hotel is tucked away in a quiet spot away from the heavy traffic, which was nice. Room was decent sized and bed was comfortable. Large walk-in shower was nice. Water pressure kept dropping out which was annoying.

Breakfast was good and free. Coffee was good.

Will stay here again, but really need to look at cleaning the rooms better next time.

This is a wonderful airport hotel. Clean and comfortable with helpful, friendly staff. Free parking, free wi-fi, and a free hot breakfast. It is a completely non-smoking property, so there is no chance of not getting a non-smoking room.

The decor is lovely and the room has everything you could want. Large TV, fridge, coffee maker, glass glasses (a nice touch for a budget hotel). I'm not a coffee drinker, and I appreciated that they had a nice selection of good tea. Not a big deal, but a little extra touch that makes a Hyatt such a quality experience.

I would stay here again. One small issue is the location. If you aren't familiar with the area, it can seem like there is nothing nearby. Not so! Go to Mariposa (a half a block away) and turn right. In just a block or two you'll find grocery stores, Starbucks, fast food, restaurants and anything else you want. Try the Five Guys Burgers for an over-the-top burger and fries.

Green Features: I have a pet peeve about hotels that don't want to launder your towels - claiming the environment - but you can't find a recycling bin to save your life. Not so with the Hyatt Place! There is tasteful recycling bin in the room. Well done! I was quite impressed!

The room was very clean and relatively new. It also was designed to take advantage of efficiencies such as a panel between the bed and desk/sofa area, excellent lighting, sun guard shades, and ergonomically designed desk and chair. In addition, the staff did their job, but did not come across as being helpful and needed more smiles and friendliness to be considered outstanding.

This brand new hotel provides excellent rooms, especially when compared with other older LAX options. The free breakfast represented excellent value. The staff, although having to wear many hats, are exceptionally friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this hotel.

I just stayed at the Hyatt Place LAX (January 2014) for three nights in a king room on the third floor. This hotel is a great option for travelers to the LA area who need a good business/leisure hotel at a fair price while being convenient to LA/Brentwood/Beverly Hills.

The hotel is located in a quiet industrial park (and secure area) away from the other LAX airport hotels (you barely hear the planes). I was very impressed with this hotel; however, my main gripe was with the housekeeping. The housekeeper on my floor did not wash the bathroom floor (even though it was clearly dirty) when servicing and barely cleaned the rest of the room each day. Also, while the workout room on the first floor is excellent, housekeepers need to go in there daily to clean the machines, etc. Workout room cleaning was clearly either not being done or only a quick cleanup was accomplished.

Here is my quick summary of the hotel:

Pros:

--Excellent Free WiFi Internet (strong signal, excellent speed)
--Self-Service Laundry Facility on First Floor
--Excellent Free, Simple Breakfast from 6AM-10AM
--Excellent Hotel Location (convenient to freeways)
--Friendly Staff
--Hotel is New
--Contemporary Design
--Excellent Beds/Bedding
--Free Parking
--Free Shuttle to/from LAX (though I did not use it)

Cons:

--Housekeeping Needs Lots of Work
--Self-Service Laundry Needs More Machines

I would stay at this hotel again as LA hotels are extremely pricey, and this property is convenient enough to drive 15-20 miles to get anywhere I need to go in the LA area. Also, the hotel is very business traveler friendly with a good desk in-room and free, fast WiFi (you do not need to pay extra for a higher speed WiFi as in some other hotels!!!).

Tips:

There is a 7-11 right down the street on Nash. Also, only about two miles away, there is a McDonalds, Walgreens, Whole Foods, Pinkberry, Best Buy, etc.

Room Tip: Get a room facing the vacant lot vs. the adjacent street as your noise should be less.
