This lodge is spread out along a stretch of the road, so if you need to go the the shop or the restaurants there is quite a bit of a walk. However the restaurants serve very good food, a la carte or simple pizza. Be aware though the restaurant gets very busy and usually you may have to wait for a table.
The room I was in was slightly dated and also smelt damp.
There was a small area for you to prepare food and a microwave/ sink/ fridge.
A sliding door opened onto a small patio offering fabulous views of the surrounding scenery.
This lodge is very handy for the national park, only a short drive away.

Room Tip: The rooms furthest from the reception are generally quieter.

Website makes it out to be a luxurious resort with a luxurious resort price, room was ok, but no better than upper end budget motels, booked a "Mountain view room", view was the dirt bank leading up to the highway. The facilities are dated. $10 for 24 hour internet use. Very disappointed, way over priced for what you get

Friendly checkin and out. Clean and very comfortable king sized bed with a comfy couch in the room too! Small deck overlooking the river was a nice place to sit also. We have stayed here many times! This 3rd floor room was among the quietest. Just the loveky sound of the Merced River rushing by outside. We enjoy having our cereal and tea/coffee and then heading into the park for the day. Store and gift shop are stocked. Wifi is available for a fee. Room rates are reasonable. I do suggest spending a bit more for the river view rooms...very, very worth it!

Room Tip: River side rooms

This old hotel is as tired and jaded as the staff here. The young woman who checked us in did not even look up let alone say hello or smile. A coat of white paint instead of the peeling brown wallpaper would do so much to improve this place which is so dark and depressing you need all the lights on even on a bright sunny day. After reading the poor reviews about the restaurant we requested a room with kitchenette but the hotplates didn't work. I suggest booking early enough to secure a room in Yosemite.

Room Tip: Stay somewhere else

We stayed at Yosemite View Lodge for a couple of nights during a recent visit to Yosemite National Park. The location of the lodge is very good, it's just a short drive to the park entrance, which is great for maximizing your time in the park. It's a fairly large complex, we were fortunate to get upgraded to a room with a river view, which was very nice and scenic.

The room itself was very spacious, including a small kitchenette, a large bathroom, fireplace, jacuzzi tub, and a balcony overlooking the river area. There were a few odds and ends for use in the kitchenette. I thought our little refrigerator was broken at first, but it turns out it wasn't plugged in. Overall, the room was ok, it could use some updates, especially in the shower.

There were two restaurants in the lodge complex, we got a pizza to go from the pizza restaurant during our stay- it was pretty good. There was also a decent sized gift shop and convenience mart with a variety of grocery items. The prices were high in the convenience mart, but I guess that is to be expected. We didn't make use of any of the pools, but we did see there were several available.

Overall our stay was fine, and the room was ok, but I felt that the price charged was excessive. The location is very convenient, but even so, I feel the price was high for the quality of the hotel and a room that could use some updating. There is also an additional fee in order to use wifi- $9.99 for 24 hours for up to 2 devices only.
