This is an upscale, quiet golf resort. The casino is located three miles from the casino, which lends to it's quiet atmosphere. The grounds are breathtaking with an overabundance of beautiful flowers, shubs, large trees and well-manicured lawns.
We spent the night in a room with two queen beds. The room was on the top floor at the end of one of the two-story buildings. The room had a large walk-in dressing room that you passed through to get to the toilet/shower room. The dressing room had an L-shaped sink/make-up vanity, two mirrors, two electric outlets. There was also a cabinet that housed a small refrigerator and coffee-maker. This was the best part of the room as I was traveling with two other women. We had no problems showering and primping without getting into each others way!
A sliding glass door that opened to a shared balcony looked out over one of the two pools and putting greens. I spent time in the morning on the balcony reading the free newspaper as the landscapers tended to the gardening on the lawns below me. Very relaxing atmosphere.
I'm not a golfer, so I didn't experience the golfing. The place was hopping with golfers as we left the resort.
Resort visitors are given several coupons for the casino. We used the Free Valet coupon at the casino and had a discounted dinner at the casino buffett. The regular price of a buffet meal would have been $50+ for the three of us, but with the coupon it cost us $33+ (great savings)! Good food choices to top it off (Italian, Chinese, Traditional American, etc).
The casino had a cheesey "disney-land" feel to it and we felt like we were arriving at Aladdin's Palace (from the kid's movie :Alladin"). The casino grounds and buildings are still under construction, but it did not distract from the fun casino experience.
All in all, it was a great experience! I would love to bring my family here in the future.

My husband and I had another fabulous stay at Sycuan Resort. Our first stay was in April 2007 and we enjoyed it so much we went down for another week in July. On both occasions the cafe , housekeeping, and golf staff were very friendly and accomodating. Generous and healthy portions at the Cafe- with lots of good coffee to start off the morning. The rooms ( like the rest of the resort) was immaculate and the beds were very comfortable. The pro shop was well stocked on both occasions. There is a lovely mix of regular members, visitors, and on our last visit World Junior competitiors playing golf on the 3 courses. The courses, including the on course bathrooms, are well maintained. If you have a chance to take a lesson from Johnny Gonzales, the director of golf, go for it. He has a great knack for teaching, instills a positive attitude to learning, and best of all he has a wonderful laugh.

Since I used this site to help me decide where to stay, I felt that it was important to provide my feedback.

PROS:

We are currently staying at the property and I'm using their WI-FI to post my feedback on the property. The grounds are very pretty and the room is a nice size. We have have a total of 5 people and we are comfortable. We haven't had any problems finding restaurants in the area. We went to the SeaWorld and to the ocean and both were within a
30 minute drive. The weather was perfect. It was a nice change from
the 110+ degree weather we have been having in Chandler, AZ

Cons:

The beds are hard and uncomfortable, but the rest of the room was nicely decorated and quiet.

Overall:

I would stay at the property again.

Stayed for 8 days, family of 2 adults & 2 children ages 12 & 8 years.
Wanted a bit more space, didn't want to pay a fortune required peaceful setting with pool for days off from exploring.
The rooms are on 2 floors surrounding 2 pools and a golf course. All views are lovely. The rooms are larger than normal with a huge seperate dressing area with a fridge, coffee machine and dressing table area. We chose a basic double double, it was spacious, bright and clean. The walls are chunky stone you don't hear noise from next door. We were overlooking one of the 2 pools which we seemed to have to ourselves, one perfect temperature with hot tub the other quite cold. We normally stay at more expensive brand hotels so I was nervous booking but totally delighted when I saw how lovely it was.
The 20-30 min drive to Downtown San Diego didn't prove difficult or tiresome and it was great to escape to the tranquility of Sycuan. There are shops, restaurants and cinemas etc very near by 10 mins. Great malls 15 mins, easy parking.
Didn't play golf or use the casino (down the road a few miles). Used the tennis facilities a few times and they charge $5, the setting is just fabulous. $5 for a great modern ball machine.
Our kids loved it here and so did we did. It was a bargain. If the drive doesn't bother you and it shouldn't as it is so easy then you will love this beautiful part of the country. (Upgrades to suites are very cheap, our room didn't have a bath). Have a look at what you have before you decide as the standard room was great for a family of 4.

We were in town to adopt our newborn baby so our plans were sort of in flux. We were staying at another property near the hospital and were not pleased so we looked up a new hotel on Expedia. Instead of booking with Expedia we decided to take a drive down to see if we liked the area and to inquire as to whether or not they would honor the Expedia rate. The person at the front desk, Colleen, went and asked her supervisor who said that they couldn't give us the $75.75 rate but could give us the room for $80. We let her know our situation since we didn't know exactly how many days we would be in town or when we would actually check in to the Resort. Colleen was a FANTASTIC!! We called her about 5 p.m. when we found out we were going to have to stay in the hospital one night with the baby she said no problem we'll see you tomorrow.

Our room overlooked one of the putting greens. It was large, very comfortable, and very clean!!! It was a perfect place for us to spend a few days to get settled and to get some much needed rest. All of the staff we encountered were very helpful.

We didn't get a chance to do any golfing but the grounds were impecable. There is a small workout room with great equipement. We will definitely stay there again when we are in the area.
