My wife and I stopped here while vacationing in Tomales just before heading to the beach to watch the sunset.

We sat in the tented outside patio with a great view of the ocean. The location is great nearly at the top of the hill heading down to the ocean.

I had the clam chowder in a bread bowl. The bread was very fresh and the clam chowder was creamy and had plenty of tender clams. I wasn't crazy about celery in my clam chowder but it did not detract from it. My wife had the grilled fish tacos and she said they were very fresh and well-seasoned. She also asked for a salad instead of beans for her side and they were very accommodating. The service overall was excellent as our server was very attentive and checked in at our table on a regular basis.

I would not call this the greatest food ever but it was very good. The view is amazing and combined with the excellent service that is enough to make this a five-star experience.

My husband and I ate here 7.5 years ago originally on one of our first dates, then again a couple years after that. We just recently went back to dillon beach and decided to continue the tradition. We stopped in for two bowls of clam chowder. We were in a slight hurry because we had a big day planned. Our waitress was very quick with placing our order and we had our soup in no time! The enclosed deck is very enjoyable when dining and there is a fabulous view of the water! It also had a romantic vibe especially at dinner.

Good food (with the exception of their pancakes...something is way wrong with the taste of them. Almost like they use a really bad instant mix). The french toast is super yummy...they make it with apple bread from a local vendor. Although the food is a bit expensive you can't beat the view of the ocean from any of their tables.

We stopped in Dillon Beach Cafe after a long day on the beach. It was getting pretty cool outside & we wanted to warm up & have a nice warm meal.
There was a bachelorette party going on in th main dining room & it was kept fairly private so I can't comment on that area.
We were seated in the enclosed deck area. It was nice with a decent view. The pictures on the website make it look a wee bit fancier than it really is.
The waitress was nice & attentive. The service (food) was a bit slow becasue of the bachelorette party, but the waitress let each table know how many were in front of them & what the approximate wait would be, so we didn't mind. We enjoyed our hot chocolates (which were pretty good) & hot tea while we waited.
The food was just average, which is why I only gave a 3 or average rating. We had fried calamari for an appetizer, okay, a little rubbery. I had the southern fried chicken (a HUGE plate of food), which again was okay, not spectacular, not bad, filled me up for sure. My husband had clam chowder, one of his favorite dishes, which he is a bit picky about. He said the clam chowder was very good. His fish & chips were just so-so. My daughter had clam chowder in a bread bowl & said it was delicious. Another daughter had a burger & fries & said the burger was a bit dry but she liked the fires.
Over all it was okay. We liked how easy it was to get to, that there was not a long wait to be seated, it was warm & we enjoyed the view. The waitresses were very upfront, honest & attentive. We would eat there again. Also consider that there is no competition, since there are no other eating establishments in the area.
