“A Beutiful Desert Oasis”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 1, 2007

This place is beautiful and very reasonable. It is very private and quiet. The service and hospitality is wonderful. You are treated wonderfully with every attention to detail, however you still have your privacy. I reccommend this place to anyone and everyone who feels like getting away to a desert oasis.--Its Beautiful!!!

Out of nowhere in an unassuming town outside of Palm Springs you will find a true Moroccan paradise. We were a bit skeptical driving through the residential neighborhood to the property, but once inside, all the stresses of daily life melted away. The warm aroma of cinnamon, the intricate detail paid to every single room and common areas, the velvet touch of the thermal waters in the spa and pool, the lingering notes of a Moroccan tune, and the delectable taste of Bruce's "Moroccotini" had us on a magic carpet for days.

After a delicious breakfast of freshly baked pastries and bagels, fresh fruit and french-pressed coffee, we floated the day away on "Humphrey Bogarts" (a moroccan twist on the Arnold Palmer) and more fresh fruit and nuts. By the daily hosted Happy Hour, we were ready to mingle with others, enjoy the desert moonlight, and hit the town for dinner.

If you are looking for the bells and whistles (and mobs of visitors) of the big resorts of Palm Springs, the El Morocco is not for you. But if you are looking to get away to a quiet tranquil place, with great hosts in brothers Steve and Bruce, and third "muskateer" John, among a much smaller pleasant group of other guests, you will be so pleased by everything you experience while at the El Morocco.

Enjoy your stay!

My friend and I were looking for a place with not too much hulaballoo, somewhere quite we could just rest. Upon arrival, we were greeted by Steve & Bruce, the innkeepers (who are brothers and have the most delightful stories to tell), who escorted us into a gorgeous Moroccan wonderland. I must say that the inkeepers were my favorite part of the trip--they made the place very cozy and homey while you still felt you were on vacation. They were extremely welcoming and bent over backwards to make sure we were happy. I felt like a princess all weekend. They gave us a couple glasses of wine, all the junk food from the snack basket we wanted (which, while it sounds insignificant, was another great thing about El Morocco because you didn't have to make a midnight trip to a vending machine when you were hungry), and some DVD's, in case we wanted to stay in for the night (they've got quite a collection). We took a tour of the reading room (which has books, games, mags, and a huge screen TV), the breakfast room (where the breakfasts were DIVINE, and all times after breakfast, grapes, figs and nuts are left out for munching), and the little nook where a big bottle of sherry is kept, in case you feel like it. Also made available is a wonderful mint tea lemonade, which I couldn't get enough of. All of this is included, so you don't have to worry about carrying exact change. NICE. On top of that, there is a fire place out by the pool and these really cool lounges with canopies that cover you from the sun, in case you're not the tanning sort. There is a sauna, which has a stereo system, so you could listen to very nice Moroccan music while you rest. One of the other great aspects of this place is that it's very casual. You don't have to leave the room in more than a robe (which are included in your room) or a bathing suit. Everyone is walking around comfy. I really enjoyed that because in regular chain hotels, you always have to put on shoes and clothes to leave your room, even just to go get ice. Everything and everyone are very relaxed, Bruce & Steve make the place heaven (and keep it IMMACULATE), and if you're in town to get R&R, lie in the sun, or catch up on reading, this is the place for you.
