Upsides:
Mellow vibes
Mineral hot springs
Clean
Friendly staff
Closer to Joshua Tree than Palm Springs if you're planning to do day trips in that direction

Downsides:
Desert Hot springs has a bit of an economically depressed feel, not much going on for food and entertainment, will need to drive in to Palm Springs for that

Overall, great value, and good if you want a quiet getaway with your partner

My daughter and I made yet another relaxing and rejuvinating post Christmas visit to Lido Palms. The resort is great for what it doesn't have--noisy guests, small children, crowded facilities. The pools and spa are great, we had massages and floated in the healing waters. The rooms are large and having a kitchen, even if it is midcentury, is great.

We were drawn to Desert Hot Springs by the health restoring mineral pools. Wondering what the aquifer below Miracle Hill contained, I asked Rod, the owner of Lido Palms.

The composition is:
Sulfate 494 ppm
Sodium 268
Bicarbonates 129
Chloride 121
Calcium 45
Silica 21.5
Magnesium 5
Fluoride 5
Iron oxide and Al oxide trace

This is really interesting, because the clean pools have no objectionable sulfur smell whatsoever. The water, at different temperatures for each of 3 pools, offers relief from joint pain, soothes skin conditions, and has the effect of making you feel content. I don't sleep well at home, but found that sleeping on the comfortable Tempur Pedic beds at Lido Palms after swimming and soaking consistently allowed deep sleep of at least 8 hours.

I loved the full, dine-in kitchen with pans and dishes, plus the outlet for charging our electric car. This is an intimate, owner-run resort, offering massage, cleansing retreats, and a responsive nature to requests or concerns.

We will be back!!!

After a terrible experience at Two Bunch Palms, we were in need of a last minute place to stay in the area and what a blessing to find this resort! Rod was kind and accommodating and the rooms were spacious and clean. The mineral baths were amazing and my aching shoulders soon relaxed. It is a small, quiet place and very relaxing. I would highly recommend it!

Room Tip: the mineral baths are truly healing!

Lido is a little quaint resort. The pools are amazing and my achy joints could tell the difference. The rooms are sufficient, needing a bit of a refresh but comfortable for the most part. The kitchenette is definitely a perk!! We didn't want to leave the pool/spa. Staff is friendly and eager to please. Only quirks were the BBQ has an out of order sign on it... much to our disappointment after buying a steak to cook. But upon inquiry we were advised that the starter switch was out so you have to manually light. PHEW.. glad we asked! We will definitely be back!
