“A Serene Oasis in the Desert!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

I am back in LA after such a great weekend in Palm Springs!
I stayed at the Two Bunch Palms Resort and Spa. The front entrance is easy to miss because it is unobtrusive and inconspicuous, there are beautiful flowers at the front and it is gated which masks the expansive size of the property! I like the fact that is is unassuming-a great get away for celebrities and famous people who want to hide from the meddling papparazzi.
Two Bunch Palms is beautiful, property is massive and has the all the elements one would want in a getaway: the calm and serenity that the spa and healing waters of the geothermal Grotto brings, the historic value of the Al Capone room-yes, this is where he stayed back in the day!, the beauty of nature in the surroundings. The huge property has a restaurant-we had a delicious breakfast/lunch-ask for the burrito!, gift shop, a spa, several casitas and cabanas (historic, new and Mediterranean), the orchard, and a lake filled with the ducks, fish and turtles who rush to you when they see you coming! They are tame and you can feed them and take lots of wonderful Facebook pictures that show you like St Francis of Assisi or Alice in Wonderland with al these animals around you. I had the desert vitality spa treatment-which included was the use of hot stones with arnica oil for soothing, then a desert salt scrub for exfoliation. After rinsing, it was a magnesium masque wrap, then followed by complete mosturization with shea butter. It is heaven-the best spa treatment I have ever had!

The hotel is so conveniently located to Palm Springs and Palm Desert and the other desert communities and also and so many neighboring cities like Los Angeles, San Diego or Las Vegas! Being a spa hotel-it has a whisper/soft talk policy in the common grounds, so it is not for children or rowdy spring breakers. However, the property is so big that it is not much of an issue. We stayed at the House on the Hill which was awesome, there are 3 bedrooms and we enjoyed the private Jacuzzi while looking at the view of Palm Springs below! Since it is separated from the rest of the hotel by a private road, you can be as noisy as you want up there! The hotel will soon be undergoing a renovation to update the rooms, but I hope it does keep the historic Al Capone casita intact with its period details. The staff is wonderful.
Highly recommended, can't wait to come back again!

Room Tip: For historic, choose the Al Capone suite. For contemporary, ask for the villas. If you want complete...

My husband and I go to Two Bunch Palms whenever we have the chance to get away for a weekend. Last weekend we used the services at the spa. I had a most wonderful Watsu treatment by Kyle. I have many body issues including fibromyalgia, arthritis, injured shoulders and knees. Kyle was able to work with my body in such a way that while I was in the water I was free from pain. He was sensitive to my needs in all ways including spiritual and emotional. This was a truly healing experience. Watsu is a type of work that is done in a warm water private pool. He used crania-sacral, shiatsu, stretching and movement techniques. The entire experience was deeply therapeutic.

Room Tip: The advantage to staying near the grotto is that you are close to the spa, the grotto, the pool and...

I'm perplexed by some of the negative reviews that I've read about this resort; we spent several days here in April which we're about as perfect as one could expect. Everything from the food, spa facilities, lodging, etc were superb (especially the food!!) and I would without hesitation recommend this facility for those that are looking for a tranquil place to relax and unwind. My only suggestions for improvement would be an on-site gym and room service.

Room Tip: Would highly recommend the Casa Blanca suites with the private jacuzzis.

Went in mid-March with a group of friends for a birthday celebration. Not a good place to celebrate with boisterous friends as there is a "whisper" on the grounds policy. Okay, that's fair if that's why people are there. We stayed in a casita that has seen better days. Part of the fridge fell off when the door was opened. The cheap formica counter was chipped. The wall cooler was so loud when it came on it sounded like a train in the room. We had to have it on because the wind and road noise was too loud to keep the door or window open at night. the food in the restaurant was okay. Nothing spectacular. I admit the grounds were lovely, but the pond was so overstocked with turtles, ducks and fish they would nearly kill each other, even the fish, trying to get food from us. Seemed kind of sad, really. I understand it has recently been purchased and I hope the new owners take care to return it to its glory days.

My husband and I were joined by our college-aged daughter for Easter weekend and we loved it. I had no idea the grounds were so expansive and the mature landscaping and wildlife pond (fish, turtles, ducks) were gorgeous. The spa treatments were first-rate and I felt like this was a spa that has a hotel attached rather than the spa being an afterthought. The service and food were both more than adequate. We had a newer room which was very nice. It's not the Ritz but neither are the prices, nor the vibe. It was a charming, relaxing stay and we'll be back. having dinner in yoga pants = priceless.

Room Tip: If you want convenient access to the pools and spa ask for a Grotto room.

My husband and I travel a lot - much of the time for business, but plenty of vacation as well. Two Bunch Palms is one of the most relaxing places we've discovered. It's comfortable but not fancy. Excellent food and out of this world treatments. A fantastic place to unplug and rejuvenate.

My husband and I had a plan for total relaxation and peace. Just hours away from home (2 to be exact) and there we were in the middle of heaven for us. I had read a review earlier in the fall from the San Diego Union Tribune and booked our trip in March. The grounds and pools were maintained perfectly. Our room was clean and comfortable. The environment was perfect for complete rest. True the rooms are dated but in great condition, only minutes away from Palm Springs where we spent one afternoon. The hot spring is open until 11 pm so perfect for a late night stroll and soak for more healing time. The trees were musical as the wind rushed through the leaves, stars were bright and mesmerizing. The ponds were our favorite place to spend time, plenty of fish, ducks and turtles to feed and admire. We were graced with the presence of a hawk in the early morning, just added much more pleasure to our experience. We found our little piece of heaven and look forward to a return visit!

Room Tip: Casa Blanca has private jacuzzis, and private patios. It is more expensive but worth it if you prefe...

Marking 75 years in 2015, Two Bunch Palms has much to celebrate. Last year's incredible renovation of the 270-acre property resulted in 70 'soulful' new room accommodations, a farm-to-table restaurant Essense, passive solar earth mound yoga dome and a new View Point conference center and meeting facility with views of the valley against the San Jacinto Mountains. This physical transformation, including the addition of a 3.5-Acre solar field, puts Two Bunch Palms on the destination spa map as the first "Sustainable Wellness Resort" in North America and the first carbon-neutral resort. A legacy that spans several generations of guests-from notorious gangsters to Hollywood elite to romantic spa seekers-the property and its newest incarnation brings a rich and storied history full circle. This adult-only sanctuary (guests must be 18 or older) invites you to explore the four pillars of the resort: waters, spa, movement and cuisine. Their renowned, natural lithium-infused spring grotto features two mineral water pools carefully kept at a consistent temperature to ensure therapeutic and mood-enhancing properties. Guests are encouraged to "take to the 600-year old waters" and connect body with spirit before enjoying the spa well-known for its intuitive healers and authentic treatments. The new Essense restaurant features healthier gourmet dining prepared by a Le-Cordon Bleu trained chef with the help of a PHD nutritionist.
