This place was lovely and not too fussy/fancy. It seemed relaxing and midweek it was not crowded. $5/ seniors.
There are 8 mineral pools - cool to 105 F .
Changng rooms. Showers. Lockers. Lifeguard.
Bring your own lock and towel.
I will go again!

This property would definitely put some people off with it's age and crumbling appearance, but the rooms were clean, the bed comfy and the people nice. This appears to be the place that the average person can afford and enjoys. There were people of every age and ethnic group and they were all having fun. There was a live band on Sunday afternoon that was fun. The little restaurant there is clean and the food decent with large portions. There are 8 different pools of varying temperatures and sizes and an olympic pool that was glorious early in the morning. It's not a high end spa, but it's fun.

Desert Hot Springs Spa was an eclectic place to go and take in the hot spring water of the desert. There are several pools to choose from, and each one has a different temperature. Watch out for staying in the sun too long, easy to do when you are enjoying these spring waters.

We cannot comment on the hotel itself, as we only came for the day to enjoy a soak/swim in the pools. The positive: the pools are clean! This is not the first time we visited, but it is sad that over the years the place looks more and more run down! The change rooms( female) are nothing for the faint-hearted: the carpet looked grungy, and the tile floor looked more like a monkey cage with roasted nuts spilled all over. Three showers are there. One already has a sign " out of service". In the second shower the taps are absent, which obviously makes this one out of service as well. The one that is working is overrun! The staff seems to be the most significant asset of this place. Everybody was friendly and helpful. We went on a Tuesday, where a day pass for the pool is a very modest $5.00 per person. It is a different story, if you go on another day and pay full price for a place that is not up to snuff! In view of the deficiencies giving the place a "3" is generous.

On the day I visited, hoping to enjoy a long relaxing soak in a hot pool, I left disappointed. Out of the four pools that are apparently designated as "hot" ones, two were merely warm (about 102) and the other two were downright cool (less than 95). I spoke with a lifeguard Roger, who was very personable, and he explained to me that the problem was some recent, and apparently unfinished, electrical and plumbing repairs. He graciously offered to try to raise the temp. of one of the pools but it still was not really hot when I left two hrs. later. I did, however, enjoy the hot sauna and the overall atmosphere was pleasant and relaxing.
