We are San Diegan locals and foodies. We value great service, quality food, and excellent wine. Market exceeds in all these areas.
The service is stellar without being stuffy. The staff is fun and remembers the guests that frequent the location. Chrissy is my favorite server, who already knows if I need another glass of champagne. Michael is the best sommelier in San Diego. You can briefly describe what you like, and he picks an excellent wine without trying to oversell you.
Food is top-notch. The combination on the menu sounds odd, but blends so well together. Food starts with table bread of the most delicious warm jalapeno corn muffins and sourdough baguettes. Then, an amuse bouche is served.
For appetizers, pick anything with seafood - you can't go wrong.
Servers then bring out another amuse bouche before main course.
We've had the cabernet braised beef (their top seller), black cod (amazing), and lobster special (delicious).
Servers then bring another dessert amuse bouche.
Their dessert is pretty good - a little too fancy for me.
Portion sizes can be a little large, so I recommend to either split appetizer or dessert.
Wine menu is extensive and of non-main stream brands, so ask Michael for expert advice.
Lastly, servers come with house-made caramel that melts in your mouth.
An expensive dinner, so save this for a special occasion.
