“Great, but hallway noise”

Convenient and well run hotel. Unfortunately our son slept terribly, which meant we slept terribly. I think it was the hallway noise from other guests - screaming children. What can you do? Our bathtub faucet dripped through the night, and maybe the crib supplied by the hotel wasnt comfortable for him? Or maybe it was just that it was a new place and he didnt want to sleep. Id like to apologize to our neighbors for his cries. I wonder if their reviews are complaining about us. Other that those shortcomings, we found the hotel clean and very well run. I didnt realize Im a gold hilton member, and the perks were a very pleasant surprise. I would stay again.

Thank you for evaluating your recent stay with us. I am sorry to learn your son had trouble sleeping with us. I can certainly understand the importance of a good nights rest for young child. In the future if there is anything we can do to make your stay and your son's stay more comfortable please let us know. We have a variety of cribs which may better suit his comfort needs. Engineering will also address the drippy faucet.

This is one of those "pros" and "cons" properties.

Pros: Very good service: cheerful check in and accommodated us with a late check out. Mellanie, our server at dinner could not have been more pleasant. We were literally the only people eating dinner on the patio and she made it a memorable experience. Most of the hotel appears to have been remodeled and was spotless. The room was large, clean and quiet. Our room backed up to the very close freeway, but double paned windows kept out almost all the noise.

Cons: The tiny bathroom showed its age. Except for some beginnings of mold in the shower, it was clean but had that old, musky smell. I hate to knock an amenity that is "free" but the
Honors Lounge was not impressive. We went for "happy hour." Beer and wine are not free, rather "discounted." (This is clearly stated on the Honors card and we were expecting that.) We saw the beer in a locked cooler. There was an old looking salad and some cheese sitting next to stale crackers. We waited for someone to take a drink order or unlock the beer, but nobody showed up. We left for the bar. Breakfast almost made up for the experience. The eggs and other selections were hot and good.

Overall, a pleasant stay due mostly to the gracious staff.

In regards to our bathroooms, we starting updating our bathrooms this week and will be a full transformation of our bathrooms, which will complete our brand new rooms. Excellent, responsive staff including waiters, maids, front desk and engineering.
Beautiful very large rooms that appear to have been recently refurbished.High quality beds and linens. What I really liked was the refrigerators in the rooms were empty instead of filled with expensive junk food.
The inside rooms face a large plaza with a pool, beautiful landscaping and many outdoor seating areas. I recommend an inside room on a upper floor and with a balcony.
The only negatives is that the hotel is at the junction of 5 and a busy street and so there is a constant hum of traffic. The food at the receptions was usually not very hot (temperature).

The staff really was outstanding I stay at a lot of hotels and a lot of Hilton's and they were real responsive to every request I would recommend to anyone staying in the area of north San Diego but ask for a room near the lobby as no elevators on the back

Babysat my grandchildren last weekend while my son was in a wedding. Found the staff very unaccomodating. My son requested adjoining rooms and when we checked in they said there were none available on the ground floor. We were next door to each other, but the room that did adjoin mine was unoccupied all night. With new staff on Saturday morning they did change our rooms. Had less than enthusiastic help from desk staff when asking directions to beaches appropriate for small children and overall was not made to feel welcome. The hostess at the Saturday morning brunch was very nice and helpful re: menu for the kids.

A very friendly, clean, comfortable hotel. Beds were amazing! And wished I could have taken the pillows home. A very enjoyable experience. Highly recommend this hotel and a visit to the lovely town of Del Mar. Thoroughly enjoyed out stay. A nice end to our USA travels!

Great hotel with easy access to Del Mar race track, they operate a shuttle service on race days. Nice, clean, very large rooms, very quiet, comfortable. Nice staff, very accommodating. Would highly recommend this hotel for business or pleasure!
