This Denny's was a real treat to dine at as it was next door to our Hilton Hotel, newly decorated with a number of new dinner items on their menu and was one of the few Denny's to serve wine if you wished to have some.

Very lucky we have a Denny's close to Del Mar. Love this place since I was a kid, no matter where I was in the US of A. Food is always cooked perfect and have never had a complaint with service. Always ready to serve and give a meal on the table. Love the salads too. So fresh.

Our small town (Solana Beach) has 6 what I consider to be primary coffee shops: Starbucks (2), The Donut Shop (Lomas Santa Fe near train station), Pannikin, Panera, and Denny's. Each has a distinctively different atmosphere but covering every spectrum one could want. Amongst the laptop and iPad crowd, Starbucks is the place followed by Pannikins. Panera is very much a living room-dining room atmosphere with the ladies in the large majority. The Donut Shop, a small family run and economical shop has the best pastry selection and one basic coffee with recent addition of 3 flavored coffees and primarily a take-out crowd. But why is Denny's in this list of modern coffee shops?

A modern coffee shop, in this reviewers eye, offers three things in no particular order: coffee, snacks and free WiFi. The best WiFi connection, consistently is Denny's! How can that be you ask? Simple answer it turns out: Denny's is lucky enough to be mere feet from AT&T's primary fiber optic wifi feed for Solana Beach. After many, many months of WiFi problems, the phone company apparently conceded and brought fiber optic cable to the restaurant from their street connection.

That plus the addition of a new dark roast coffee, a really good dark roast I might add, and their wide range of flexible selections gets me there at least 5-6 times a month. Flexible selections? From a side of two eggs (or egg whites), a pastry or maybe just an order of turkey bacon all the way up to a breakfast with what whatever mods you want.

And the fastest WiFi in town with your coffee. Next fastest, in this reviewers experience over the past year, is Pannikins followed by Starbucks and Panera. The Donut Shop doesn't have WiFi as they cater mostly to a take-out crowd. Seems unusual to include a family restaurant in a coffee shop review but when you add in fast WiFi the game is changing. Oh, and did I mention that Denny's now has 3 large flat screen TV's usually tuned to ESPN? Want another channel? Just ask.

Friendly serving staff, 8 counter seats and very bright for easier reading as I write this review from a bright, front side table after a third cup of their dark roast for a total price of $2.09! The second most reasonable for the first cup behind the Donut Shop and the cheapest in town including refills. And last year Denny's now sells beer and wine.

Came here for a quick, light meal w/ out of town guests. They LOVED this Denny's (they were from New Jersey and not familiar with them.)They ate here a number of times during their visit, it was near their hotel.
We all ordered soups and my son ordered breakfast. The waiter was attentive, he quickly complied with our requests for more hot water for tea, etc.. the food decent.
The manager was very visible and to me it was noticeable that he cared about his guests-he even stopped by our table to check on our dining experience.
This Denny's is right across the street from the Del Mar Fairgrounds complex and convenient right off I-5 freeway.
