“A Must!!!”
Reviewed July 20, 2012

We feel so lucky we found this place! The rooms were spacious, very clean and comfortable. The staff went out of their way to be be sure we had everything, including supplies for the beach, best places to go in the area, and places to eat. Free parking and breakfast were a definite plus. It was so nice waking up and eating breakfast on the porch enjoying the ocean view! This is how hotels should be run! Looking forward to the next time we can get to Dana Point!

Room Tip: Garden rooms are quieter and a great deal.

I spent two nights at this lovely spot in Dana Point, enjoying the view of the ocean from the deck and enjoying time with friends from PA and CA who also stayed there. The only drawbacks were the tiny breakfast room (but good food selection), and also trains traveled through the area across the street on a regular basis. (The motel provided earplugs for sleeping, but I didn't need them.) The room was clean, comfortable and quite affordable for the area, with restaurants within walking distance. Great stay!!

Room Tip: Try to get a room at the back - you might not have an ocean view, but it will be quieter.

The service was outstanding, this is a family owned hotel and it sure makes a difference. Rooms are neat and clean with modern furniture and flat screen tv´s. Breakfast and parking are included. We left some items and inmediately received a call from the front desk to our house, the items were delivered to our home in Georgia in less than 2 days. We appreciate the gesture. Would go again. Steven, Fernando and the whole staff are very nice.

Room Tip: If you are a light sleeper the train may bother you, but really we did not have a problem with it.

I read about this hotel on TripAdvisor and saw the good reviews. And they were right on. My cousin and I stayed here overnight in June 2012 for a family reunion in nearby Laguna Beach. The room was spacious, clean, and updated. The bathroom was just fine - and had a nice makeup mirror and hair dryer. We also had a microwave, fridge, and small sink.

The owners are very welcoming and delightful. Breakfast next day offered waffles, eggs, fresh fruit, cereal, coffee, tea, juice - it was terrific. The ocean-view we had did also mean some highway traffic and occasional train traffic - but it was minimal. I would definitely stay here again - and it was very affordable!

There is also a terrific Italian restaurant down the block - Agostino's - delicious food and reasonable prices.

Room Tip: Ocean-side may be a bit noisier, but I like looking out to the ocean. We were on a ground floor - h...

We stayed at this hotel Memorial Day weekend 2012 through Thursday morning that week. The manager and his wife are very friendly and helpful. We always needed extra towels and hangers as there was four of us staying in our room. They were very nice to always give us the towels everyday and provided the extra hangers when we checked in. The room was very clean and fresh. Which means a lot to me as I used to have a cleaning business and I am very particular when it comes to hotels and their cleanliness. Our room was on the first floor with a beach view and we enjoyed seeing the ocean every day and being so close that all we had to do was walk across the street to the beach. The Amtrak metro trains do go by about every 1/2 hour but they go by so quickly that you hear them and then they are gone. (the track runs parallel with the street in front of the hotel) The continental breakfast has a lot of variety. I thought the coffee was actually pretty good. Also the room is decorated with contemporary furniture and linens. The spa area is very small. But at least they have that to offer guests. Parking is free and underground so we felt like our car was pretty safe and the parking garage is well lit during the day and night. The only draw back is that where the hotel is located there are not really any restaurants so you will have to drive to find amenities for food and groceries. But the town of Dana Point is just right up the street and the harbor is very close too. We all like the hotel and will probably consider staying there again.

Room Tip: get a room with with and ocean view

My fiance and I opted for this place based on trip advisor recommendations and, for the most part, it was spot on. Awesome location across the street from the beach. The street noise posed little problem and the sound of the waves are what you hear most of. The place is small, clean, and quaint. Most importantly, the lady loved it and suggested it become our new "place." The bathrooms are small and the breakfast a little uninspiring, but everything else is great. The service was friendly, the room was spacious and cozy, and the parking situation is very good. I would definitely recommend staying here and I have full intention of returning myself.
