“Amazing ocean excursion!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2012

Thsmis a great excursion. The trip lasts 2 1/2 hrs The Wharf can be a little tricky to find even with a GPS but if you can find the Oceanographic centre, it is beside the next buildings which have blue roof tiles. So, leave yourself time to find this place
The crew are all excellent and very knowledgeable- great teachers
The boat is one of a kind with underwater viewing areas to see dolphins right alongside. Be prepared to get wet from waves if you want to view from outside but it is so worth it and fun.
We saw many whales and dolphins- fun tracking them down and seeing them in their natural habitat. WOuld highly recommend this very affordable excursion

“Best Whale Watching!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 13, 2012

On December 9, I went whale watching with Capt. Dave's. What an experience! It was fantastic! We saw 7 or 9 whales as they played and fed on krill. We got to see a fin whale breach, which apparently was a first. We also saw common dolphins. Captain Dave's uses a catamaran that has "pods" where you can go down inside and see the dolphins underwater! The trip was exciting and so much fun. The crew are all so knowledgable and make the trip fun. I'd highly suggest this excursion to anyone in the Southern California area. To top it off, they hand out brownies at the end!

“Amazing Anniversary Gift”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 27, 2012

This was a great idea for an anniversary gift for my wife. She loves dolphins. We were not expecting to see any whales because of the time of year, but we lucked out and got to see some. We then found 2 different pods of dolphins. We had a great time seeing them swim right under the boat. Then the bottlenose dolphins started jumping and doing tricks. She absolutely loved the trip. The captains did a great job telling us about the whales and dolphins and doing everything they could allow us the best viewing of the whales and right in the middle of the dolphins. We were on the smaller boat, "Dolphin Safari" which put us right on top of the dolphins within a couple of feet. On the bow we got a little wet but that added to the experience. It was a small group of 10-15 people on the boat and it was perfect size for everyone to sit comfortably or stand wherever they wanted. We will absolutely do this again when it is prime whale season! Great job!!!

“Fun Day and Educational,too”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 6, 2012

Great time - my husband and I enjoyed seeing the Fin Whale and all the dolphins. Capt. Tom's passion and knowledge made the trip outstanding. Capt. Tom wanted us to see as much as possible - he stayed out a little longer - but that was OK with us. We would have never seen the Fin Whale if Capt. Tom had not taken the time to follow and keep us informed of what he was doing and why. I would highly recommend this trip. K & T

“Great trip!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 26, 2012

10/26/2012
Thanks you for such a wonderful trip. We truly enjoyed seeing the dolphins, and sea lions. Unfortunately we did not spot any whales, maybe next time. We took our 3 kids: ages 9 and 7 they said it was the best thing we have done! Better than Sea World, The Zoo and LegoLand so that says a lot! They will be talking about this for a long time! Be sure to bring your camera. We also brought food and drinks to eat on the boat.
Your crew was great too!
P.S they love the book.
