...that pretty much sums it up. It was awesome staying in the camp. Dave and Riley are great surfers and surfguides, who would do anything to make your vacation a unforgettable adventure. All the time it seemed to me they are having so much fun doing their job that they would actually also do it for free. Everything just turned out as I hoped it would. I did learn a lot, saw and "surfed" (I'm beginner level) a lot of beautiful surfspots, ate great food and had just an awesome time. I would definitely do it again. So go for it. You won't regret it.

“Just do it!”
Reviewed November 4, 2013

Who wants to surf at the CaliCamp, has to be prepared for amazing days!

The Guides aim is: Find the best surfspots each day and have a lot of fun.
Whether you are a beginner or not, they manage to create a great chemistry among campers through their contagious enthusiasm and passion for surfing.
They really go out of their way to teach you how to catch a wave and make your stay in Orange County perfect.

Thanks for this awesome, authentically experience and the best time I had in California!

“Awesome 5 day surf trip”
Reviewed October 28, 2013

Due to the closed national parks during the government shutdown, we had to look for an alternative to spend our time in the U.S., and with the Cali Camp, we found it!
I've never surfed before and I am surely not a watersports enthusiast, but Dave and Riley (the trainers) definitely know how to get you stoked for surfing!
What qualifies these dudes for being surftrainers? Knowledge about every detail of surfing, they are patient with you and they know how to judge your skill-level and push you just right. Oh, and they can surf quite well, of course. But they aren't just some guys that teach you how to catch some waves, with their outgoing attitude they will soon become your friends!
This trip was worth every cent. Many spots with perfect waves for total beginners just like me and bigger waves for those who already know what to do on a board.
No complains about the hotel, which is very close to the beach.
If the weather for some reason doesn't allow you to surf (about 10 days of rain a year...), just ask Dave and Riley, they can tell you tons of other stuff to do.
Conclusion: Go there, do it! (Seriously, what are you waiting for?)

“1 Week at the calicamp”
Reviewed October 9, 2013

Me and my homie booked thecalicamp for 1 week (2 weeks of surfing expirience) and we are happy that we made that desicion. Its not only the surfing skills; its the atmosphere, the knowledge and the ambitions of the teachers to find the best waves Every day, what makes thecalicamp so enjoyable. The camp was awesome i recommend it to all people who love surfing as a culture with teachers who really know what it takes to take you one step Fürther as an individual.

“surfing with friends”
Reviewed October 8, 2013

The only bad thing about my 2 week stay is... it ended.
Dave and Riley (and Daniel) do a fantastic job out there in California. And they really understand how a surfcamp should be: No touristy, school-like surftraining stuff, but surfing while feeling some kind of local. And although I went there alone, this was a trip with friends!
Go there or go home!
