“Exceptional!”
Reviewed August 4, 2013

We have now been to this restaurant twice since we checked in and on both occasions I have enjoyed the best New York strip I have ever eaten. We had eaten in this restaurant last year an it was fine without being exceptional. This year it is simply outstanding and I have tried many steak restaurants from Morton's to the Capital Grille to Peter Luger's. I would strongly recommend this restaurant. The staff are wonderful; the amuse-bouche very tasty and choices of appetizer good to excellent. Fish and chicken dishes are also available. The wine list is also comprehensive. All in all, a great addition to a now very strong line-up of facilities in SoCal's premier resort.

“Amazing steak... Limited wine options”
Reviewed August 1, 2013

Our first time at this (relatively) new steakhouse at the Ritz.. The initial underwhelming feelings (tired decor, limited wine by glass choices, some awkward communication by the waitperson ) were quickly changed when the steak arrived. This was definitely one of the juiciest and perfectly executed piece of steak I can remember in quite some time. Side items (Mushroom with Peas) and Appetizer (Burrata) help up on their own.The service was efficient (could be a bit warmer!) and overall we were very happy and would definitely return

“Maybe the hour too late for great?”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

Unquestionably a beautiful spot in Dana point, the Ritz delivers in hospitality, but I was expecting a lot more out of enoSteak. Wine list was adequate, but the Hartwell cab I saw on their online wine list wasn't available. I found a suitable substitute, but it was overpriced, period. The hype made about the cheese selection was also overrated, and the plate was small and only included two pedestrian (no offense to Cypress Grove) choices, that no server could accurately identify. Speaking of servers, they were definitely young and green, but eager to please, so they get high marks for effort. Overall, I don't think the ambiance or the menu met my expectations of fine dining here. Would be better to grab a nice bottle of wine and some cheese from Von's and sit in the hotel's outdoor courtyard - which is perfectly charming, with a great view.
