“Fantastic Resort”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 23, 2013

We just finished a business conference followed by a few days rest and relaxation at the fantastic St Regis Monarch Beach. The hotel is beautiful, well appointed, and serviced by an excellent staff. The location is excellent, scenic and we enjoyed the golf, walks to the beach, and relaxation at the pool. The concierge did a great job in recommending restaurants in Laguna Beach. We would highly recommend dining at the Sunday Brunch. It is terrific. We can't wait to return.

I had the pleasure to stay at the St. Regis Dana Point during my companies Presidents Club in April for 5 days. My suite was beautiful with two queen beds and the bathroom was large with a huge bath tub that I enjoyed every evening. The hotel staff was very accommodating and the ground were beautiful, clean with breathtaking views. The enjoyed the upscale Spa having one of the best facials ever.
I look forward to retuning to the St. Regis with my family.
My only issue with my room was a dripping noise in my ceiling.

Room Tip: Make sure that you ask for a room with an ocean view.

Service was just amazing. Prompt. Friendly. Well mannered and polite.
Check-in was very easy and helpful.
Room was very clean, relaxing and welcoming.
The bathroom was my favorite part...great shower and even the tub was inviting. I never take baths but I just had to this time (after cleaning the tub myself again).
Turn down service was great after a long day of exploring coming into the room with the relaxing music playing and slippers and robe waiting.
Food at the restaurants were great when we ate at the resort.
Make sure to go to the beach club for lunch and sit on the deck to enjoy the beach and views.
I will be back!

I stayed here for a friend's wedding. The service was impeccable even though I showed up late, and disheveled in a beat up old car after dropping off some bridesmaids nearby. I've stayed at a number of beautiful hotels - the Ritz, the Four Seasons in London and other locations, for example. Anyway, the St. Regis offered true five star service as it is meant to be - attentive without being pretentious or annoying. The pool was amazing. The rooms are spacious. Don't miss a chance to wander down to the beach from the hotel.

My husband and I recently stayed at the St. Regis Dana Point. Upon arrival in our room, two lights were burnt out and one sink had drain problems. Doesn't housekeeping check those things? That same evening, after dinner we went to have drinks at the bar, on the outside patio. My shoe got stuck on something sticky. I blew it off as a spilled drink that had dried...well, it was still there three nights later..don't they clean the areas at night/first thing in the morning? The second day we walked the grounds. I know it is April, the golf greens were gorgeous, but the rest of the landscaping was tired, dated and in need of a whole lot of TLC. All in all, the rooms are larger at the St. Regis, but the Ritz Carlton across the street is a much better hotel, staff included.

The service is impeccable from the butler taking you to your room, to room service. The grounds are well kept and the room view is wonderful. (ask for a ocean or pool view)The room was clean, bed is comfortable and the bathroom was big and beautiful. Only complaint was the carpet needed a shampoo job.

Me and my spouse recently spent 4 nights at St Regis Monarch Beach in Dana Point and all i can say is WOW. I have stayed in other 5 stars and this was by far the most elgant and comfortable hotel i have ever had the priveledge of staying in. Upon arrival we were greeted by the bellman who took our luggage. Check in was a breeze and we were given a room on the 6th floor over looking the grand lawn and had an amazing view of the Pacific Ocean. The room was very clean and comfortable. The bathroom was complete with a his and her sink, large soaking tub, standalone glass granite shower, seperate room for toilet, also came with all the standard shampoos and products and mouth wash, a shave kit, robes, really soft linens and even slippers. Housekeeping came at least 3 times a day to make sure the room was clean and organized. We returned every day and the bed was always made fresh and all the towels were fresh and new. The biggest thing that suprised me about this hotel is during the evening they come to your room and set out slippers for you along with a flash light for the dark and also a robe and next to each side of the bed a complimentary bottle of water and chocolate with a card with the next days forecast. The TV was simple to use. The only complaint was that they do charge for WiFi in the room. For a five star resort and almost $500 a night this should be included for free, but it is what it is. The beds were the best sleep i have ever gotten and i own a sleep number bed at home and this was the best sleep i have had in years!

The resort was beautiful. The lawns were well mainted and all the natural plants and palm trees really gave the entire area a really relaxing nature feel. In each room there was an orchid in the bathroom that the gardner checked on twice during our visit. The views of the ocean were breathtaking. It was nice to sit on the balcony off the room every night and watch the sunset over the ocean. The monarch private beach club was just a short 5 minutes Free tram ride away. Also easy access to golfing and shopping.

If you are looking for a relaxing place to stay or a romantic getaway i HIGHLY recomend this resort.

Room Tip: ask for 6th floor and an ocean view
