I spent a really nice day at this multi attraction beach. but was very disappointed in the sheer drop off and the amount of rocks. easy free parking on Coast highway with foot bridge to the beach. life guards and changing rooms/restrooms very handy. great view in both directions. but unswimmable with the drop off making huge dangerous waves and rocks that pummel your feet. great walking beach towards camp ground and surfing day use area. also a nature area with water fowl. we saw a lot of paddle boarders an surfers really enjoying some gentle waves for beginners, in the protected day use area. Very close to Dana Harbor for restaurants not to mention across the street from a classic Mexican restaurant, Olamedis which is a review on to itself (yummmy). Anyway - Mission Beach in san diego, my home town, is a much nicer beach with clear water, no rocks, great boogie boarding waves and long walks.
