I have stayed in other hotels within a ten mile radius, but this is by FAR the best hotel in the Daly City / San Fran area, especially if you need to get in and arounf San Francisco State University. It is centrally located, so close to San Francisco, or south to San Bruno.
Great breakfast in the morning...it just feels like home away from home. I have stayed here about six times...so far everything has been super...great front desk also....
By the way, there is an IN-N-Out in walking distance....

We were in town 4 days for my nephew's wedding. My sister, who lives in SanFrancisco, recommended this hotel - and we experienced no problems. Hampton Inns meet our expectations - and this hotel was no exception. Loved the hot breakfasts - much better than the continental breakfasts offered at other hotels. I had no problems with the Wi-Fi.
Lack of parking spaces is a concern. We got a handicapped space the first night, but had to park on the street the second night - which made my husband very uneasy. The third and fourth nights we got a space in the adjoining lot - which was satisfactory.

If I have to complain about something - it could be that we never got back to the hotel early enough - before they ran out of cookies!

Stayed here for 2 days during late August 2011 in king bed suite. Quite nice big room, just enough for 3 people. Standard Hampton hotel in avarage neigbourhood, but quite close to shopping and grocery. Some 6 miles from SF city centre. Parking is free, which is rare in SF, but parking lot is not too big. Standard breakfast. Clean rooms. Sleeping experience not so good compared to other Hamptons I have been to.

The Hampton Inn in Daly City is built on a hill. After check-in, it is awkward to drive a car from the lobby entrance to the parking lot down the hill. Entering and exiting the parking lot is best done via a series of right turns on adjacent streets.

Our room was clean, quiet, and contained a comfortable king sized bed. The central heating system kept our room at a selected temperature. There were number of small drawers provided in the bureau dresser, leaving room for a refrigerator in the bureau. The refrigerator, however, did not have a freezer section. The room closet was small with its overhead rack filled by an extra blanket and pillow. With 5 pillows on the bed to begin, it was not clear why there was an extra pillow in the closet.

The bathroom had plenty of counter space and a European style shower over the tub. We prefer a fixed overhead shower.

Like many things at this hotel, there is a small fitness center and a small, shallow indoor pool. The best way to describe this facility is adequate with some nice amenities.

The hotel staff was friendly and helpful.

We stayed here to visit San Francisco. The staff was extremely helpful. The hotel was very clean. Our room was a bit on the small side; the internet was slow at times as mentioned below. But basically, it was the same as most of the Hamptons we stay in clean, friendly, excellent bed, good service! It is about 10 miles from San Francisco, so you have to either drive in, take a cab, or take a cab to the BART (it is a long walk.) They had extra tables set up for the morning breakfast rush and even had a small library. There is a good restaurant a block away named Vals where we ate dinner, and also a International House of Pancakes. Because of the hill, the lobby is on the 3rd floor, so the advice about an upper floor room is good. We got home on the earlier side, and did find parking.

Room Tip: Use rooms on third or fourth floor.

It's a Hampton Inn so many things are standardized throughout the chain such as: cleanliness, free breakfast, etc. But the staff here are really nice, and always greet you with a smile, from the desk to the maids in the hallways to the breakfast room. Everyone seems interested in making sure that you are satisfied, and these people make the hotel a cut above.

The good:
-The rooms are spacious and furnished very nicely. Everything seems new, from the rugs to the bathroom fixtures, and scrupulously clean!
-No staining on any tiles in the bath.
-Soap, shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer, and mouthwash provided daily.
-USA Today newspaper at your door every morning
-Breakfast buffet staff keep everything well stocked and they do it in a friendly and professional manner. Food is not gourmet, but is good enough. Bake your own waffles, and always some kind of egg+meat+starch available in steam table. Juice, cereal, yogurt, pastries, and bagels/toast/English Muffins.

The not-so-good:
-WiFi is slow and drops out ALOT! Very frustrating if you need it. We wound up using the wall connection in one of our rooms (we had 2), which worked well, but in the second room the wired connection did not work at all. Had to got to the business center and use the antiquated IBM PC there, but we are Mac people and I hated putting my passwords into a public Windows machine!
-Parking lot is too small for this hotel. If you get back to your room past say 9PM, be prepared to have to park on the street. Not a big deal, but bothersome in the rain or if you have stuff to carry.

On balance though, this is a good choice for a trip to SF, located about halfway (15 minutes) between the airport and the city. Comfortable and reasonably priced.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms facing the street are at sidewalk height and pedestrians could look directly into...

I am a loyal Hilton traveler and find all their hotels at least adequate. This location was disappointing. The rooms are standard size and clean. There is limited parking, so don't expect to park in their lot after 9pm. We booked a two bed suite, but apparently they had a plumbing leak in our room and "upgraded" us to a king bed suite. One of my family members sleeping on a pull-out couch is not an upgrade. Besides, both room types cost the same. Our keys had to be recharged every evening when we returned. We were told that we demagnetized them and should be careful where we keep them. We asked for directions and advice on how to plan for parking in SF, but got limited direction from the desk staff. I tried to use the hotel business computer, but it was down for all 4 days. The hotel is within a mile of the BART rail, but don't count on the San Francisco transit system to get you anywhere efficiently. I recommend to pay a little more, find a hotel in San Francisco, and enjoy the service and convenience.

Dear drifter33,
I hope you are having a wonderful day, wherever you might be.
I would like to thank you for staying with us several months ago. I understand you were not satisfied because your keys got demagnetized, the business center was out of order and the service was not great.
Please accept my sincere apologies. We have, since then, made several changes and we have focused in customer service. Our goal is to exceed our guests expectations, every time.
We, at the Hampton Inn Daly City, value your opinion and comments.
Come back and visit us again...you won't be disappointed.
Please call me or e-mail me with any questions or concerns.
